The Wailin’ Jennys to perform Folk trio The Wailin’ Jennys will bring their celebrated harmonies and diverse musical background to the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, on Friday, Nov. 22. Comprised of Nicky Mehta, Ruth Moody, and Heather Masse, The Wailin’ Jennys are known for their tight vocal blend and emotive, folk-rooted sound that has made them one of today’s leading folk acts.

The group began as a spontaneous collaboration of solo singer-songwriters at a small guitar shop in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and quickly became an internationally renowned folk group. With founding members Mehta and Moody joined by New York-based Masse, The Wailin’ Jennys have continued to captivate audiences around the world with their harmonies, inno-

vative compositions, and heartfelt live performances.

Their debut album, 40 Days, released in 2004, won a Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year, and their appearances on A Prairie Home Companion helped expand their fan base. Their follow-up album, Firecracker (2006), ventured into alt-country and pop, earning another Juno nomination and a Folk Alliance Award. Their live album, Live at Mauch Chunk

Opera House (2009), spent over a year on Billboard’s bluegrass charts, showcasing the trio’s live charm and musical expertise.

In 2011, Bright Morning Stars earned The Jennys another Juno, blending Americana, pop, and traditional folk. In 2017, they released Fifteen, featuring fan-requested covers of songs by Tom Petty, Dolly Parton, and Paul Simon, and receiving critical acclaim for their refreshed arrange-

he annual Gift of Lights drive-thru display returns to New Hampshire Motor

Speedway (NHMS) from Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving), through Sunday, Jan. 5.

Family friendly service at a fair price

This holiday tradition, presented by Ambetter from NH Healthy Families, features a 2.5-mile route adorned with over 3.5 million LED lights, promising festive fun for the whole family.

Highlights this year include a 150-foot RGB Tunnel of Lights, various holiday scenes like the “12 Days of Christmas,” and more than 520 displays

across 80 unique scenes.

The route also includes a 130-foot infield tunnel lit with over 25,000 lights.

Visitors can enjoy treats by roasting marshmallows and making s’mores at fire pits along the way.

The display opens at varying times throughout the season: ■ 4:30-9 p.m.: Nov. 28 – Dec. 14, Dec. 16-18, Dec.

30 – Jan. 5 ■ 6:30-9 p.m. on Dec. 15 (following the Yule Light Up the Night Run/Walk from 4:30-6:30 p.m.)

Kimball Jenkins to host Holiday Tea event Kimball Jenkins and Safe Haven Ballet will host a Holiday Tea event on Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15 at the historic Kimball Jenkins Mansion, 266 North Main St., Concord.

The event will feature themed meet-and-greets with dancers from Safe Haven Ballet’s holiday productions, offering families a festive afternoon filled with entertainment, refreshments, and holiday spirit.

Full benefits are available with a starting salary range of CPS CL24 $49,044 to $79,767, depending upon experience, with promotion potential to CPS CL27.
