The Children’s Theatre Project is an opportunity for young people interested in theatre to get experience in the many aspects of this art form. Most of the young people who come to us at auditions, or for theatre camp and workshops, want to be on stage, acting, singing and dancing! And there are certainly many opportunities to do all that, but we also offer the chance to be a part of creating a show from its beginning all the way to closing night. We have youth stage managers and assistant stage managers, backstage grips and spotlight operators; young thespians can also work on set building and painting, makeup, props and art design for posters and programs.

The Children’s Theatre Project at The Community Players of Concord, NH provides a place for children (and adults) to create lasting friendships, develop their talent, and become part of a welcoming community.

Watch these children as they present the timeless classic “Charlotte’s Web” adapted by Joseph Robinette on October 18th and 19th, 2024 at the Concord City Auditorium.

Celebrating the 29th season of theatre for and by young people, the Children’s Theatre Project is pleased to present E.B. White’s classic tale of love and friendship, Charlotte’s Web, sponsored

Brought to life on stage by 42 young actors ages 6 to 16 years old, the show will be performed live at The Concord City Auditorium (The Audi) on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 pm or Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 pm and tickets will be on sale on our website at CommunityPlayersofConcord.org or at the box office 90 minutes before each show.

On Friday, Oct. 4, the Jaffrey Civic Center will present the first speaker in this season’s “Stories to Share” series. Photographer Eleanor Briggs, founder of the Harris Center for Conservation Education, will speak on the subject of ‘Conservation Tales: From Hancock, NH to Southeast Asia and Beyond’. The program will begin at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a reception.

Since 1989, award-winning photographer Eleanor Briggs has photographed some of the wildest parts of Southeast Asia and India for the International Crane Foundation and then for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Briggs has spent many months exploring the outer reaches of Burma, Laos, Bhutan, Thailand, and Cambodia, living for short periods in those countries.

More recently she has photographed wildlife programs for the Wildlife Conservation Society in Cambodia, Guatemala, and Bolivia.

To get to the remote areas where wildlife still flourishes, she has traveled by foot, canoe, ox cart, 4-wheel drive truck, and small plane.

Over the past three decades, Briggs’s work has been

The exhibition will take place at Kimball Jenkins Art and Community Center, in Concord through Nov. 2.

The 2024 Biennial Show will feature an array of works from the talented members of the NH Potters’ Guild, showcasing the diversity of styles, techniques, and approaches that each artist brings to their craft.

From wheel-thrown vessels to hand-built sculptures, the exhibition reflects the rich variety of contemporary ceramics in New Hampshire, all rooted in the elemental material of clay.

For Wes Thomas, designing Moulton Farm’s corn maze this year fulfilled a challenge he’d set for himself.

“Each year, there are so many different ideas floating through my head as I’m getting ready to design the maze,” says Thomas, who’s been working at the farm since high school and designed their corn maze for 17 years.

“Sometimes choosing the maze theme is pretty easy. I had several designs I was thinking about this year, so I did what so many of us do. I asked my wife,” he admitted with a grin.

“She’s the one who suggested the theme, but what she didn’t know is that I’ve wanted to try a flag and an eagle for a long time. I hadn’t done it because of its multiple challenges, but this year I decided it was time to tackle it.”

Other classic fall favorites will be available at the Cider Bellies Doughnut stand and at the farm’s market, including apple crisp, freshly baked pies, and whoopie pies in several flavors made in the farm’s kitchen and bakery.
