KBIC Distributes Over $348K in 2% Gaming Revenue to Local Governments Baraga, MI — The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) is pleased to announce the distribution of its 2% gaming revenue allocations for the period of October 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025. A total of $348,910.12 was awarded to local units of government in Baraga County and Marquette County. The local units of government in Baraga County continue to receive an amount equivalent to what was historically received pursuant to a 1994 Agreement between KBIC, Baraga County, Baraga Township and L’Anse Township. Under that agreement, KBIC committed to sharing a portion of its gaming revenues to assist with local services and infrastructure.

Although the formal agreement is no longer in effect, KBIC has voluntarily continued this tradition, acknowledging the numerous essential services that local governments provide to KBIC and its members.
