Meet the New Owners of Parkway Motel & Marina!
Independence Day Celebration! Saturday, June 26, 2021 Starting at 10:00 am Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend the annual Independence Day celebration! The day kicks off with a “boom” and gets even better from there...all culminating with the fireworks at 9 pm. Here is the day’s schedule: 10:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony
10:30 a.m. Parade, Theme: “Founding Fathers”
Aaron Tabor (left) grew up in Chokoloskee, his grandfather was Ernest Hamilton. When Everglades City School was being rebuilt, Aaron started helping the plumbing contractor onsite. A few years later Aaron became a licensed plumber in Naples, and eventually relocated to Ft. Lauderdale where he founded “Honest Plumbers”. When Aaron met David (top left on right) a few years ago, they developed an immediate connection. Then, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, they came to Chokoloskee to be closer to family. That is when they met up with Bill & Geri Shelburne, former owners of Parkway. It was then that the couple learned that the Motel & Marina was for sale...and the rest is now history. Aaron & David took over the Parkway Motel & Marina on January 1st. Since that time they have been very busy putting their imprint on the park. There are upgrades and changes everywhere you look…and, it looks amazing.

Food (hotdogs, chips and a beverage) will be provided by the Everglades Lions Club. If you are coming from out of town, the parades and festivities will be located in and around McLeod Park in Everglades City. We hope to see you there! They have upgraded the live bait tank and now carry shrimp, blue crab, and (when available) baitfish...all guaranteed to catch fish or die trying. They have added a 24-hour keypad to the renovated fuel tank so Captains in the Captains Club have 24-hour access to fuel any time they need it. The boatlift crane has been rehabbed it can easily lift boats up to 6400 pounds and slip them easily into the water. No need to back into a ramp, they will lift your boat right into the water. Parkway has overnight docks, and docks for larger vessels too. They also have increased their offering inside the office including new fishing tackle, hats, shirts, maps, groceries, and new items being added regularly. The couple has worked day and night over the last six months to position Parkway as one of the County’s most versatile marinas with complete boating and room accommodations. Parkway has an array of room styles; standard rooms, rooms with kitchenettes, cottages, and a 3-bedroom trailer. Parkway Motel & Marina can accommodate a single overnight stay to larger groups, and families for a more lengthy stay. July 3rd is the official Grand Opening of the Aaron & David era at Parkway Motel & Marina. Their grand-opening party will feature music, food, fun, games, and beverages. This is a fantastic opportunity to support one of our local businesses and meet the new owners of Parkway Motel & Marina!
