Pedometers will be given out to the first 100 interested participants the week of June 13-16 in the Student Recreation Center Lobby. T-shirts will be awarded to the first 30 participants who reach the goal of 100,000 steps!

Membership is limited to faculty, staff, students and degree holding graduates of Georgia State University. Current students are members through their Atlanta campus student activity fee.

Carrying Sessions Forward One Semester

Scope of Practice

Personal training sessions include cardiovascular exercises, muscle strengthening and endurance exercises, and flexibility exercises. Nutrition consultation sessions include discussions about dietary habits and goals for nutritional intake based on nutritional needs and within the scope of practice of the nutrition practitioner. Sessions can only include matters within the scope of practice offered by the Fitness Center staff and their respective programs and services. The Fitness Center reserves the right to make referrals out rather than provide services to clients when issues exceed the scope of available services and/or scope of practice of the practitioner.

A maximum of three sessions (sessions, consultations, tests) may be carried forward for one semester (spring to summer; summer to fall; fall to spring).

Any sessions not used by the end of the second semester will be forfeited.

Touch the Earth Trip Descriptions ADVENTURE SPORTS Day on the Rocks We’ll take you to a popular rock climbing destination and stir up some awesome climbs to test your outdoor climbing ability and learn new skills. No experience necessary. Includes transportation, climbing equipment and shoes, instruction and leadership. Climbing Club Leaders & Penny Harvey Fly Fishing This trip is on a small stream for hands on instruction in fly casting, fishing strategies, knot tying and an introduction to insects, tools and techniques. Hidden Gem Backpacking Exploration This fun experience is centered on relaxing near the water after a short trek in, hiking the trails in the area and experiencing an easy backcountry camping trip. You’ll spend most of Saturday and Sunday exploring the area and will hike a few miles into a campsite to enjoy the wilderness for the evening and have a campfire. Includes leadership, equipment and transportation.

You’ll camp atop a small mountain bald and enjoy cool summer breezes while stargazing. DAY HIKES Panther Creek Falls Enjoy a seven mile round–trip hike along rocky bluffs under towering white pines and hemlock in north Georgia. Bouldering Cave

The cave has both vertical and horizontal overhanging terrain.

Any skill level may use it in a “no ropes� bouldering format. It is located across from racquetball court #4 adjacent to the Climbing Wall. Check in with the Climbing Wall attendant.
