Attending the cherry blossom was extremely fun! I had the amazing opportunity to help setup and meet tons of new people! I look forward to doing this once again!

I had a great time at the Cherry Blossom Festival! I came to Japan Town at 8 am and started helping the vendors set up their tents and get them stuff that they needed to have. Near the end of my shift I had to watch the entrances near the food to make sure nobody left with alcohol. I left at 12:15.

Washington Key Club debuted their first official fundraiser on May 31, 2024. The club sold boxes of handmade chocolate strawberries at George Washington High School in hopes of raising enough funds for their reactivation fee. The creation of chocolate-covered strawberries allowed the board members to better bond with one another and practice their collaboration skills. This fundraiser was key to starting the covering of the club’s financial needs, as well as allowing the board to further develop their relationships and boosting the club’s visibility within the school. The overwhelming support from students and staff highlighted the importance of the Key Club’s presence and its positive impact on the school community. With that being said, we cannot wait to host more fundraisers, volunteer, or community events in the near future!

“The clean up was a very calming event and even though the weather was cold and misty, walking around and helping our community was motivating. I believe that people having the same goal is what brings us together and this event is one of many for engaging in a new and fresh environment. I’d also like to say that it gave an opportunity to enjoy and admire our surroundings.”

On May 25th, 2024, eight of our Key Club volunteers gathered at Mussel Rock Beach for a beach clean-up event aimed at making a positive impact on the environment and the community.

While exploring the beach, all volunteers used grabber tools and buckets to remove significant amounts of litter. About 20-30 volunteers, including local residents, members of environmental organizations, students, and families, collected many pounds of waste, with a large portion sorted for recycling. The event showcased a strong sense of community and highlighted the power of collective action in addressing environmental issues. The event enhanced the environmental quality of the beach and inspired future participation, demonstrating that collective efforts can lead to significant results.

We cleaned at Mussel Rock beach this Saturday. I picked up a lot of trash and saw a lot of dogs. It was a very fun event with my friends and the key club members.

Over the weekend of May 18th, we held Key Club’s Got Talent along with D34C and D34S.

Our winner Ryan Chung with LTG Rico Tan.

The Division Council Meeting was also held at this event.
