WELCOME Welcome to the 2019-2020 season at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is a major center for music, opera, theater and dance in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is the performance home of some of the region’s leading performing arts organizations and hosts a wide spectrum of entertainers from around the world.

Performances at the Kauffman Center happen in two venues: Muriel Kauffman Theatre and Helzberg Hall. The 1,800-seat Muriel Kauffman Theatre boasts a red color scheme and shimmering seating boxes, a design reminiscent of 18th- and 19th-century opera houses. Home to performances by Kansas City Ballet, Harriman-Jewell Series, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City, the Muriel Kauffman Theatre stage also welcomes acclaimed popular artists. Helzberg Hall’s 1,600 seats in shades of blue are arranged in an oval. The Julia Irene Kauffman Casavant Organ, Opus 3875, provides a stunning backdrop to the stage and features more than 5,500 pipes.

Helzberg Hall is the performance home of the Kansas City Symphony and Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, as well as select concerts presented by the Harriman-Jewell Series.

EVENTS & DINING The Dining Experience at the Kauffman Center Featuring a seasonal three-course menu, The Dining Experience at the Kauffman Center offers modern American cuisine just steps away from the Center’s two performance halls. The Dining Experience’s rotating menus also include small plates for lighter fare, a selection of craft cocktails and a curated wine list.

The adjacent, city-owned Arts District Parking Garage has 1,000 spaces and is available for event parking. Pre-purchase garage or valet parking by calling (816) 994-7222 at least 24 hours in advance.

Safety & Security

The Kauffman Center places the highest priority on the comfort and safety of its patrons. The Kauffman Center provides 24-hour security and video surveillance services, plus EMT medical services at most events. The Kauffman Center’s security screening policy states that all persons and items entering the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will be screened at the point of entry. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts management reserves the right to refuse any item deemed a potential safety or security risk or with the potential to be a distraction to the event being held.
