An Introduction
Hello! Thank you for taking a gander through my portfolio. My name is Kat and I’m currently in third year Interior Design at The Glasgow School of Art. As well as studying I have completed a design internship with ALPHA office design and currently work part time at Wren Kitchens.
In this portfolio you’ll find a snapshot of three of my favourite projects, all have been completed throughout college and Art School. A variety of different computer programs, including vectorworks and sketchup, combined with hand drawing on procreate has been used in each project, to help express the overall designs.

THE AUCHENTOSHAN TASTING ROOMS
The Auchentoshan tasting rooms breaks the mould of traditional distillery tours and whisky tastings, offering customers a unique and interactive retail experience. The overall feel of the interior is industrial, breaking the usual whisky stereotype and keeping in line with the brands connection to its urban roots.
To appeal to a younger demographic the design utilises Interactive screens, Augmented Reality and Immersive surroundings to create a unique experience for the user. Stretched over three floors the experience includes two retail spaces, an interactive zone, immersive tasting room and bar.

The Copper A

The mezzanine is designed to be a transition space from exploration to guided tour. Customers will meet with guide again before heading up. The viewing point looks down onto the copper A allowing the guide to ease the customer back into the mindset of listening and observing.

Immersive Tasting Room

The Immersive Tasting Room is the key experience within this building. Here customers will engage all five senses while tasting Auchentoshan’s favourite selections. The tasting will be accompanied by a scripted and timed performance from the guide, moving in time with the videos on the 360° LED screens.

PATHWAYS
Pathways is an intergenerational living complex designed functionally for the elderly while remaining aesthetically appealing to all age groups, ensuring the space is welcoming to everyone. Blue grooved cork cut into concrete walls creates tactile way-finding for the visually impaired while being bold and clear for all users. The main hub is designed to be a tranquil space revolving around a rainfall water feature which creates a moat surrounding the quiet creative space or “Sandcastle”. Water is a reoccurring theme throughout the design from flowing shapes to colours such as blue and green which help create calm and positive environment.

HOUSE OF GODS DIONYSUS
Dionysus is the second location of the House of Gods Hotel in Edinburgh. Perfect for theatre lovers, this hotel reflects the lavish living of the theatre God himself. Relax in the Muse’s Lounge, indulge in Persephone’s restaurant or sip champagne in Dionysus’s Den.
The interior of this second location incorporates the lavish and quirky feel of the original House of Gods while having it’s own personality. Connected by one circular bar each area has it’s own feel while remaining linked.

Sectional Vewis
These technical sections aim to show certain areas of the hotel in more detail. On the ground floor we can see the reception, both bar areas and dining room. On the basement; the kitchen and coffee lounge.
