Happy Holiday season to everyone! It has

been a frantic, hectic 6 months for me but I can honestly tell you I have enjoyed every minute of it. Everyone I have met here at SCCU has been very friendly and welcoming and I look forward to building relationships with each and every employee. The HR / Training department has been busy and will continue to be as we work to create a working environment at SCCU that our employees feel is second to none. As you all know, Tim unveiled the Superior Cycle earlier this year. The cycle starts with engaged & empowered employees and without that, we would not have the exceptional service and member loyalty that leads to strategic growth. Our departmental goals are to help create engaged, empowered employees and we have taken several steps this year to
GET TO KNOW SCOTT HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY? I have been in the HR industry for over 25 years and in the financial services industry for 13 years. WHY DID YOU COME TO SCCU? Following a merger at my previous financial institution, I was looking for an opportunity that better matched my organizational beliefs and goals. During the interview process, SCCU was what I was looking for and I am excited to be part of the organization we are creating. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK? On a professional level, Servant Leadership by Robert Greenleaf and on a personal level The Talisman by Stephen King & Peter Straub. WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL MOTTO? This is a simple one I learned years ago by a mentor….Do What You Say You Are Going To Do. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM? The MN North Stars but unfortunately, they packed up and left the state overnight. WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? I have many of them but perhaps the most unique is eat Cherry Pie Filling straight from the can. LAST TV SHOW YOU BINGE-WATCHED? I recently finished Weeds and I’m now addicted to Squid Game. WHAT TEMPERATURE DO YOU CONSIDER COLD? It is not cold until it gets below minus 30.

We started with an Employee Engagement Survey which identified many areas that we just needed to get better at, and we thank you all for your honest, candid feedback. Some of the steps we have already taken include; changing our work week from 37.5 hours to 40 hours, increasing our minimum wage to $15 / hour, revamping our benefits plan and creating a more robust training department. We are far from done and will continue to Drive Forward Momentum in 2022 with feedback from you, our most important asset. We will be sending out more information on the positive enhancements we will making for the SCCU experience in the coming weeks so please keep an eye out for that information.

Now that the holiday party is just 2,016 “All Too Wells (Taylor’s Version)” away there are some things to go over. We have been asked many questions so we thought we’d just lay it all out.
What’s the drink sitch?
Every person that attends will recieve 2 drink tokens. You can use these for alchoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Once you’ve used them, it’s a cash bar. Please drink responsibly.
Where can I park?
The Great Lakes Aquarium has a huge parking lot and it’s reserved just for us. They will be closing it 2 hours early for us so they can start clearing people out and making room for you!
What about Bentleyville?
Well, we think Bentleyville Tour of Lights is a benefit! What’s more magical than walking into a holiday party surounded by festive lights?! Bentleyville may cause a bit of extra traffic but trust us, this party is worth it.
Can I leave my car overnight?
Yes! It’s actually encouraged that you leave your car overnight if you’ve been drinking. We want you to get home safe and sound while still being able to celebrate. We’d recommend that you plan a safe ride home ahead of time.

What is cocktail attire?

Think of it as what you would wear to a nice wedding. We are planning on seeing everything from ballgowns to jeans. Everyone is welcome no matter what you choose to wear! Some are taking this opportunity to get a little more dressed up.

How do we win prizes??
Well, this is the fun part. It’s a raffle! All employees will be given 5 raffle tickets at the door for the chance to win fun prizes of your choosing. THERE’S MORE! We will be having a sock drive that gives you the opportunity to get up to 5 more raffle tickets. For every pair of socks (up to 5) you can get an extra raffle ticket! These socks will be donated to local non-profits.
