Dec 3rd: Internal Sneak Peek – Staff got a first look at the Holiday Party Dec 13th: New Website – We unveiled our new look on a new site Dec/Jan: Branch Openings – Ladysmith opened and East End got a facelift Jan 1st: In-Market Creative – SCCU billboards, print ads, social media, emails, and tv all reflect our new branding Ongoing: Brand assets & touchpoints – Updating all swag, paper goods, and branch materials

We are hard at work promoting the grand openings of Ladysmith, East End, and soonto-open Grand Rapids, helping the Mortgage Team prepare for the upcoming home shows, organizing a scholarship contest, and prepping for the annual meeting. We’re designing culture walls, new swag, bus wraps, member newsletters, and new SCCU debit cards. We are donating to our communities, sponsoring and attending local sporting events, and earning positive PR for the organization. In January we were excited to debut our new Charity of the Month program (more on page 12 & 13) and have been working on some larger partnership opportunities behind the scenes. And as soon as covid dies down, we can’t wait to plan our next company event. : )

The HR department has been busy with year-end tasks…year-end testing for the 401(k) and Pension plans, mailing out W-2s and 1095 statements (thank you Beth) and assisting with the budgeting process. We have also been interviewing on a daily basis to fill the roles needed in each department as well as weekly training for our new employees and frontline staff. We are very excited to have completed the documents that allows SCCU to provide the 2% match to our 401(k) program and those additions were made on the first payroll of 2022. We are also excited to have the new health insurance plan in place…while there were some bumps in the road we have completed the enrollment process and have received very positive feedback on the new plan and the coverage it provides. We are close to finalizing our new SCCU recognition platform so please look for more information on this addition in the next few weeks. Finally, I would like to welcome our newest team member, Stephanie LaGesse who joined our team this past week.

ary 8, 1932, our credit union started in a grocery store with 26 members and 100 dollars. Here 0 years later, bigger and better than ever. 90 years!! That’s older than McDonald’s, Geico, and . We were in business before Jackie Robinson hit his first home run for a crowd, before the Oz hit the big screen, and before The Beatles produced their first album. We have had 90 years of serving our communities with many more to come.

we brought the thunder to a few Twin Ports sporting events. On January 15th we sponsored a y game at Amsoil while hosting a networking event for our Commercial Department. We handed s thunder sticks to the students to make some noise and advertise SCCU - These were a HUGE e mimicked the same thing the a few days later at a Denfeld Hunters basketball game.

SCCU is always aiming to help our communities and members have financial security and wellbeing. We know that people won’t have either of those things if their basic needs are not being met. Thats why we choose to donate to non-profits whose missions work towards meeting the basic needs of the underserved in our communities.

ICAA, Inc. was established in 1966 with a mission to assist individuals in achieving self-sufficiency by providing the resources, education, and services necessary to develop healthy families, sustainable communities, and strong local businesses. ICAA has proudly provided supportive services to low-income individuals and families throughout six counties over the last 56 years such as small business development, Connections Store and More thrift shop, food pantries, family education, veteran services, and much more. CASDA’s mission is to provide supportive services to individuals hurt by domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse while advocating for a community effort to end violence. The agency was founded in 1988 when the Rape and Incest Victim Advocacy group and Coalition Against Domestic Violence combined efforts to provide more comprehensive, coordinated help to survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

The area primarily served by CASDA includes the Twin Ports plus Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties in Wisconsin. However, they have no set borders when it comes to helping victims. Whether someone is calling their help line from California or coming to their office from across the bridge in Minnesota, they will help that person as best they can.
