School Year 2021-2022 Is Here! John 6:9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?” Do you know this story? This was in my reading this month. I believe God showed me something through this one verse, and it is for THIS school year and FOR YOUR STUDENT! Each of our students has been created by God the Designer and for a purpose. This little boy was probably just a typical little Jewish boy who had come (probably because his parents MADE him) to see a famous “preacher/ teacher.” He had packed a lunch: two fish and five pieces of bread. This little boy was not expecting to be part of a story that would be told for thousands of years to come. He was just obeying his parents—maybe even a little reluctantly. There are three things that changed his life and the lives of those around him and put him in a position to be used by Jesus to touch so many: 1) He came prepared. He was prepared for the long haul—not the quick fix. 2) He was willing to give up what he had for something far greater. 3) He was there, and he was available. These three simple principles, if applied daily, can become the foundation that will cause our boys and girls to achieve success in school this year and in the future. One more important message from this story is found in verse 12: “When they were filled, He said to His disciples, ‘Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost.’” Do you know that there were 12 baskets of bread/ fish left over? When we learn to give to God—even if it is just a little—He can do MUCH with that little. Just imagine if we were willing to give Him more! Our prayer is that boys and girls will learn to trust God with their whole heart. With God the possibilities are unfathomable. May this school year be their best yet! The education of children and youth is the primary responsibility of parents

The education of children and youth is a 24-hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week process that continues from birth till maturity (Deuteronomy 6:7; 11:19; Proverbs 22:6).
The education of children and youth must have as its primary goals the salvation of and discipleship of the next generation (Psalm 78:6-7;
Whether in summer camp or summer school, learning occurred at OCE! Even during the hot days of summer, the learning never stops!

The education of children and youth must be based on God’s Word as absolute truth (Matthew 24-35; Psalm 119).
The education of children and youth must hold Christ as preeminence in all of life (Colossians 2:2; 6-10).
The education of children and youth must not hinder the spiritual and moral development of the next generation (Matthew 18:6; 19:13-14; Mark 10:13-16; Luke 18:1517).
The education of children and youth, if and when delegated to others by parents, must be done by teachers chosen with utmost care to ensure that they all follow these principles (Exodus 18:21; I Samuel 1:27-28; 3:110).
The education of children and youth results in the formation of a belief system or worldview that will be patterned after the belief system or worldview of the person’s teachers (Luke 6:40).
The education of children and youth must lead to true wisdom by connecting all knowledge to a biblical worldview frame of reference (Romans 1:20; Psalm

We must have volunteers: coaches, score keepers, bus drivers, fundraisers—all kinds of help are needed. If your child is interested in sports, please consider helping in one of these areas. Ask for a volunteer form. OCE is proud of our strong sports programs of the past. We have had students who received scholarships from colleges and go on to play professional ball. So, be patient as we once again growAward a strong sports program! Superior As we are growing, we may limit some of the sports, but our plan is to add the following: baseball, softball, tennis, track and field, soccer, archery, and possibly football—just to name a few. WE NEED YOU! We have bragging rights on our amazing music department (headed by Mr. Joseph Toma). We are expanding and adding more instruments! Do you have an instrument you are not using and would like to donate? We supply instruments to our students and need more. We will take any “good, usable condition” instruments. See Ms. Bullard or Mr. Toma if you have a donation. OCE is a 501c3 charitable institution and donations can be used as a tax deduction. THANK YOU!
