Kengo Kuma’s M2 Building, designed in 1991, is a postmodern style building that includes an exaggerated ionic column. This collage is a combination of this building and the Parthenon in Greece. It takes Kuma’s use of rescaling certain elements by emphasizing different components than what is emphasized in the actual building. This recomposition includes the Parthenon because of its significant use of columns, although the two buildings’ columns are different styles. This image is in black and white to get rid of the contrast of warm and cool tones in the building materials. The incorporation of the Parthenon’s openness juxtaposes the M2 Building’s bulkiness.
