Put Some Pride in Your Stride!
As the Heather Small song goes, ‘What have you done today to make you feel PROUD?’ Well, if you ask me, being you is certainly something to be proud of!
You are so many things to so many people. Your very existence in this world is miraculous when you consider that the likelihood of ever being born is an estimated 1 in 400 trillion! Let that soak in for a second, pop your cuppa down and breathe in that incredible information – the possibility of you even existing is that enormous. It is almost the point of impossibility in scientific terms.
You can continue with your cuppa for the rest of the article, you have my permission. I know that life can feel overwhelming. I understand that there are ever increasing worries regarding finances, jobs, homes, schools, decisions and more. I see the demands on our time and energy out stripping our available resources. And I know that all of this means that some days you question yourself, you speak unkindly to yourself, and you stop believing in yourself. This is your reminder that YOU, dear reader, are impossibly sensational. So, when you go about the rest of your day, I would like you to move differently. Be Proud of who you are – let that shine out. And, once you have absorbed that feeling of Pride, pop a note on your calendar that Saturday August 6th is Pride in Belper and that is an event for everyone to come and feel proud of who they are.
