Dear Colleagues,
ere we are, on the final stretch of 2016, a year full of H meaning for us at Karisma. We witnessed the realization of a dream, the birth of Nickelodeon Resort and Sensatori Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was a calculated risk that revolutionized the all-inclusive vacation sector, sealing family vacation and luxury entertainment with our Gourmet Inclusive stamp.
We went ‘over the top’ with our Palafitos Overwater Bungalows, a successful, innovative project that put Karisma in first place for this type of resort in all of Latin America, with suites perched over the warm crystalline waters of the Mexican Caribbean. We are a passionate group, doing our absolute best in each of our areas of activity. And it is thanks to this passion among us that we have achieved some additional prestigious international awards. Just days ago, Condé Nast magazine revealed the winners of the 2016 Readers Choice Awards. Their readers chose six of our hotels as the Best Resorts in Eastern Mexico. In addition, El Dorado Maroma and Generations Riviera Maya came in fourth and seventh, respectively, among the 50 Best Resorts in the whole World. This coming year we will face many more challenges, and each one will present more growth opportunities. For example, among other important grand opening events on the way, we have Karisma Adriatic’s consolidation as regional leader in that area by integrating the first family hotel with the renewed opening of Wind Rose under Karisma management, in Montenegro. Our greatest strength lies with our combined spirit of collaboration and work ethic, with which we can face any obstacle or challenge that may present itself, while providing our clients with the unique experience they have come to expect from our hotels.

While keeping our eyes fixed on our vision and achieving our goals, we will offer adequate support and become even more focused on the personal development of those who have joined our organization.

NÁAY SPA AMONG MEXICO’S BEST SPA & WELLNESS MEXICO ANNOUNCED THE RESULTS OF THEIR SURVEY ABOUT THE BEST SPAS IN MEXICO 2016.
“I
t is an honor to present the list of the Best Spas in Mexico, 2016”, said Sara Jones, editor of Spa & Wellness Mexico. “Our awards, now in their fifth year, recognize the best spas in the country, and the list has grown every year” To achieve this award, spas were judged on their palette of services, the quality of the treatment, personalized care, wellness offerings, image and the design of the facility, among other things. Our Náay Spas, one located in El Dorado Seaside Suites and another in El Dorado Casitas Royale Hotels, were both ranked among the best in Mexico. Traditionally, Spa frequenters look for alternative relaxation and wellness techniques, which has fomented an individual sub-segment in the tourism industry designed specifically for this type of client; and Mexico has become one of its prime destinations, which has driven strong sector growth regionally and nationally in Mexico. “The Wellness Tourism market has experienced rapid growth (globally generating nearly USD$500 billion), and here in Mexico we can capitalize on this growth by offering unique solutions in our resorts and spas. The professionalism and uniqueness at each spa, and the services offered, will determine success at short and long term levels” concludes Sara Jones. About Spa & Wellness Mexico: Spa & Wellness Mexico is the only publication of its type in the industry, dedicated solely to spas and wellness. It is the most influential magazine in the business and updates readers in Mexico and the rest of Latin America about this segment’s advances. Congratulations, Náay Spa!

The Path to Success 2020
THE PATH TO SUCCESS 2020 I n October a meeting was held with executives from all over the world in order to strategize our organizational growth plan heading into the year 2020. During the four days of intensive work at our Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana, the group reviewed all projects that will be in progress during 2017 and early 2018. Meanwhile, the New Construction and Development department was working on structural design elements that would be implemented at the new or expanded properties in 2019 and 2020.
We are convinced that our organized plan to continue growing our company through the existing brands we carry, as well as the new ones we will add to our portfolio in the short, mid and long terms, will give travelers ample reason to continue visiting us at different and new destinations. We also want to grow our membership of partners who, thanks to their confidence in our products we now carry through the Travel Club, have made Karisma their ideal place to find ideal vacations.

Karisma Hotels Adriatic
DESTINATION: ADRIATIC COLLECTION
BY: ALEKSANDR A NENADIC
W
hat is Caribbean to the Americas is the Adriatic to Europe. With over 1300 islands, it only comes natural that the holiday experience of the Millennial Europe is at its best in this collection of gems that are yet to be explored, and that are yet to get brushed to perfection. With dozens of marine protected areas in the Adriatic, envisioned to protect the biodiversity of its magnificent world of more than 7000 species identified as native to the Adriatic, the charisma is unique – assisted of course by the rich history, remains of which are visible throughout the region only to magnify the already perfect backdrop for a memorable holiday. #KarismaExperience so far in the Adriatic concentrated on the Makarska Riviera where are beautiful Sensimar Adriatic Beach Resort and Sensimar Makarska are located, as well as Camp dole, while Dubrovnik Riviera was the home to Sensimar Kalamota Island Resort located on the island of Kolocep was our gem – patiently awaiting the Sensatori Dubrovnik and first ever Casitas in Europe. Our next season will be so much richer through Wind Rose Resort by Karisma, our newest addition to the Adriatic Collection which stretches along the blue shores of the south Montenegrin Riviera. Wind Rose Resort by Karisma also marks our first family resort in the Adriatic. Lord Byron called Montenegro’s coastline the planet’s ‘most beautiful encounter between the land and the sea’. Not surprisingly, visitors are lured to its golden beaches studded with fishing villages, glitzy modern marinas and buzzing old towns. But following this trail also uncovers the fascinating heritage of seafaring Montenegro – from Venetian seamen’s palaces and tales of Ottoman-era piracy to summer festivals celebrating the locals’ relationship with the sea. The particular relationship is not of course unique to Karisma’s newest destination Montenegro, but to the Adriatic as a whole and if rocks could talk of the stories they carry since 6000 BC, they would fill thousands of books. The countries bordering the Adriatic Sea are significant tourist destinations. The Adriatic (Croatian & Montenegrin) tourist facilities are further augmented by well over 20,000 nautical ports and moorings, and nautical tourists are attracted to various types of marine protected areas due to the high biodiversity of the Adriatic Sea whose unique nature gives rise to an abundance of endemic flora and fauna. Tourism in Adriatic Croatia as well as Montenegro has in recent years exhibited greater growth than in the other regions around the Adriatic. In the Adriatic collection of treasures, the experiences are infinite.

Besides this, the Karisma Foundation in association with the Mexican Association of Diabetes, completed a review of all employee eating facilities and the Diabetes Association will provide Karisma Foundation with the results and suggested nutritional programs that will be implemented in all Mexico hotels, beginning in December. In our next edition, we will give more information and an update on the advancements in this campaign.

October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
OCTOBER: BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH O
ctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At all locations there were various activities, as well as the promotion of our medical screening program, which was free to our staff and female members of their families over 40, through local medical agencies. At this time, we want to share a special campaign that was undertaken at Allure Chocolat and Bonbon, where earlier this year one of their staff contracted this terrible illness. All personnel from the hotels joined to support her economically and emotionally, keeping up the campaign all year, not just in October. This campaign was initiated, motivated and directed by the General Manager of Allure Bonbon and Allure Chocolat, Noe Landa, whom we salute for such a noble initiative.
Co-Worker Meetings

AT KARISMA WE ARE PREPARING OURSELVES FOR GROWTH
O
ver the past few months, Karisma Hotels & Resorts announced a strategic alliance with well-known coach Jim Madrid and his company, Advance Sports Technology, Inc. (AST). Under his guidance, we aim to create a positive impact on company culture and develop stronger leaders while fostering greater employee commitment and satisfaction. The program that AST provides focuses on people as the fundamental element of the company. Basically, the rationale is that by developing strong leaders within the company, one generates a positive impact on their respective teams. Thus, by promoting professional growth and increasing employee commitment, their performance is enhanced. We started off on this mission presenting the course: “The Ten Principles of Entelechy”, whose purpose is to open employees’ minds to change, then lay the foundation to make ‘Karisma culture’ the fundamental means for growth.

Karismática Drink
ÉXTASIS (Ecstasy) INGREDIENTS: • Marshmallow Syrup • Guava • Strawberry • Mint • Lime • Ginger Ale PREPARATION: Mix all ingredients, except for the Ginger Ale, in a shaker. Strain over a glass full of ice and add the Ginger Ale. Decorate with fresh fruit and marshmallow brochettes. CHARACTERISTICS: This fresh, sweet drink is ideal for the hot Rivera Maya, while chilling at the bar or in one of our pools. The marshmallow touch is intended to bring back childhood memories, while the guava and strawberry add a tropical touch, and the mint, lime and Ginger Ale bring all the flavors together. It’s a kid and adult friendly drink. LORENZO EK PAT Originally from the village of Señor, in Quintana Roo State, México. He has been a bartender for ten years, serving El Dorado Seaside Suites for eight of them, currently at its Cotorros Bar. His zeal for bar services nurtures his creativity, imagination and fun. He loves hanging out with people from other cultures, and the diversity of our guests gives him a perfect base from which to learn and create new delicacies. What he loves most about his job is how peaceful the hotel is, the environment and the camaraderie that is evident in his team. He wants to carry on in our organization for a long time, and feels he can do even more for us.
