On Carnival Monday, K2K’s masqueraders will be portraying the “Ringmaster of the circus”.

The RTW-M (Ready-to-Wear-Monday) ensemble tries to keep true to theme, through introducing one of the main characters in the circus: The Ringmaster. In line with this masqueraders will be given complimentary trench jackets as part of the Monday package: a unisex yet stylish interpretation of the Ringmaster’s wardrobe. To further enhance the look, black leather crossbody bags (also complimentary) are paired with the jackets.

WHY FREEDOM?

With respect to the slogan #FREEDOM, it stemmed from the Ringmaster’s ability to control the acts in the circus. Metaphorically it talks to defining, redefining and owing one’s destiny.

You see, the most ironic part of #FREEDOM is that freedom is not free. #FREEDOM comes at a cost, that cost being paid for in the form of hardship; with that hardship being tested, then defined and re-defined time and time again by personal COURAGE. You see #FREEDOM lies in being fearless enough to find your voice. In the same vein, #FREEDOM speaks to igniting a power to own your voice.

The word #FREEDOM talks to breaking chains (physical chains; mental chains; stereotypes; archetypes; prejudices) It talks to moving past the cannots to I will; with the will sometimes spearheaded by the thought, “I will because I have to”.

It is important to note that the concept of #FREEDOM is complex and is translated and communicated in varying degrees. With that said, K2K has also consciously chosen to debut the personal and intimate side of #FREEDOM. To that point, we have introduced #FREEDOM undergarments this season. So now, you can choose to represent #FREEDOM secretly and privately as well.

Ultimately, at K2K, we believe that it is critical to note that with #FREEDOM comes a RESPONSIBILTY and one of those imperative criteria is RESPECT. Respect for all the different participants in that circus called life.
