Graduated from Taylor’s University Malaysia in 2012 I have led various small projects and renovation, typically working with tight budgets, fast timelines and complex existing conditions in Malaysia, Indonesia and China. After gaining some architecture experiences for several years, I wanted to explore different advance architectural design typologies, while improving my knowledge in design, be inspired and exposed to different and unique architecture approach.

I always thought of myself as a lone creative, until I started working in the field. I quickly realized that its not the long hours of designing by myself but the collaboration, relationship, and interactions, that gets me energized. I believe that input and feedback makes design better and that constraint are opportunities for creative solutions.

WUHU BOAT FACTORY RENOVATION Urban regeneration of old shipyard factory complex The site location is situated at an old boat factory in Wuhu, China. The initial idea is to create a public open space of iverside and to develop the site to become a public recreation and enjoyment. Taking its inspiration and case study from Shanghai’s West bund, Wuhu riverfront has similar site condition. A key strategy of the plan was to reconnect the city center to the riverbank while incorporating the scattered historic buildings as important elements of the city’s history. creating a deliberate sequence that integrates into the historic building, the new infill building will revitalize public spaces along this important connection to the water. and pedestrian walkways have been added to create a more intimate urban experience and improve the walkability of downtown Wuhu. and improving the walkability of downtown Wuhu. Another idea for an existing boat factory is to transform the factory building into an innovative, open public gathering place. The factory will be a contemporary and eclectic work environment that includes co-working spaces, meeting rooms, open-plan lounges, boardrooms, studios, exhibition spaces and wellness facilities.

VICTORIA MANOR English County Manor inspired guesthouse The aim of this project is to recreate a british manor experience in Wuyuan county, China. The clients are british and wuyuan native, who has a vision to live in a british manor in China, and want to share the experience. The site is nested in Wuyuan’s famous green tea fields, facing South East to the Gutan river. The site itself benefits from a commanding riverside position to the East, and Tea fields to the back. The East facing aspect will celebrate the morning sun over the Gutan river, whilst Tea fields to the West offer a picture perfect sunset. Sensitively complimenting the surrounding landscape is a priority. 25% of the site is given over to build the actual house, and the rest to gardens. A raised platform where the house will be built is high enough to be safe from potential floodwater, and then sharply drops down to the river bank. Authentic English country house style can be hard to replicate. More often than not, the best examples have derived their look from generations of inhabitants collecting objects and carefully modifying the existing décor. It is a look that manages to be both timeless and liveable, grand but infinitely comfortable. We aim to achieve this tradition-steeped style by using traditional colours, pastels through to deep reds and greens. Combined with art, eccentric objects, recycled wood, a lived in feeling will be achieved that is clean and interesting. The goal is to get the balance right between hotel and home. Accessories and materials are the key.

SOI CIK DI TIRO Revitalization of an old residence SOI Cik Di Tiro was born from the simple idea of giving a new soul to an old residence that had been vacant for several years. Located in one of Jakarta’s most exclusive locations, surrounded by a variety of shops, stores and restaurants, the owner has transformed the old residence into a community space, an art space and a new lifestyle in the area while maintaining the original structure. The building is refashioned from an old residence and painted all black, it gives off a unique and majestic aura from the exterior.

The interior layout and space are designed to match the original structure well. This is not common as the original structure was designed for residential use. However, the homely layout actually benefits visitors seeking peace and quiet.

THE LOST DISHES PROJECT - CULINARY ART CENTRE Reimagining Urban Fabric of Kampung Cina (Chinatown) The aim of the project is to explore processes of initiating in architecture, engage in processes of social change in a positive way, rejuvenate the area that involve social community and to understand how the project affect social, political and economic processes. The location is on the edge of Jalan Bandar in Kampung Cina along Jalan Kampung Tiong. The site is an open parking lot with a historic building (Captain Lim well), a Chinese temple, a Chinese and Malaysian food court, and several trees provide shade for food court visitors . The local morning market, well known among locals, serves as a community for Kampong Cina locals. A testament to the lack of public spaces in Kampong Cina, as the market is located in a parking lot. The location is right in the middle of the Chinese and Malaysian food court next to a 14 storey building. A Chinese temple that is well known to locals as a gathering space. Captain Lim’s historical well is now abandoned and not well maintained by the locals. It’s a bit hidden away, not on the busy main street. The main intention of the building is to engage visitors with the local community, and to engage the building with the site. Located at the edge of Kampung Cina, the site is well-known among local people, as a spacious car park with morning market. The site is surrounded by chinese and Malay food court, a chinese temple, and a historical landmark, the Captain Lim’s well. The building may help to re-promote the abandoned historical landmark, increase economic activity around the area. The Culinary Art Centre : The Lost Dishes, is an idea of a culinary educational space to preserve some authentic local delicacies from Kampung Cina. Some favourite delicacies among tourist and local people are rarely found nowaday, due to the lack of younger generation who dislike to continue their family bussiness which supposed to be handover from generation to generation. The Lost Dishes project, is one strategy to engage local people and outsiders (non-local), create a community through mutual interest (traditional food from Kampung Cina), In this project, where local people are given opportunities to interact with outsiders, introduce their culture and tradition through traditional food. Local people teach traditional skill of cooking and presence of tourist increase economic activty in Kampung Cina. The Lost Dishes Project, strives transparency in its processes both for students and visitors. Visitors are allowed to watch the process of preparing their food. Students are encouraged to understand the whole process of food their prepare.

The main idea of the building design is to blur boundaries between the culinary school and the public. Making the ground floor as a public plaza which can be easily accessed by public with multiple entrances around the building. The building does not only function as a culinary school but adds value by becoming a neighborhood and community center for the local people, to increase economic activities around the area. The Pattern of the facade is to resemble a sea turtle shell pattern, as Kampung Cina (Chinatown) is well known for the Sea turtle conservation centre.

THECA Sara Hilden Art Museum Team : Jessica Omar, Timur Imanayev, Davide Dona
The new Sara Hildén Art Museum is structured in two cubes, wrapped up in a glass dress. The central span expands into a wide foyer that allows the building to respect the features of the site and its arboreal heritage. It enhances the visual connection between the urban fabric, in particular the distinctive administrative palace, and the park behind the museum, where the elegant Fynlaison Palace is located. The simplicity of the forms stands seamlessly with the surrounding buildings, while preserving the memory of the architectural composition of the former exhibition venue designed by the Tampere architect Pekka Ilveskoski and Associates. The glass case enclosing the new building dematerializes the framework and lightens the overall volume, triggering a dialogue of reflections and lights that brings the outside - the city and the park - inside the museum this being strongly coherent with the function of threshold between the urban and the green fabric effectively performed by the edifice. By seeking maximum openness to the suggestions of the surroundings, the building’s layout tends to dissolve the boundaries between internal and external spaces, inviting the visitors to vertically prolong the city promenade in its premises. The museum is a place that stands in continuity with the life of the city. Its welcoming spaces are dedicated to stimulating imagination and at the same time, they works as a device to engage the landscape, through brand-new panoramic viewpoints in height, over the city of Tampere, its park and lakes.
Public entrance Staff entrance Emergency exit
The wave-shaped hardscape and softscape design of the external areas approaches and leads the passer-by to the museum, enhancing the paths of soft mobility. It underlines the character of the building as a place of intersection, aggregation and relationship, engaging the potential visitor to experience the museum from the outside

GENIUS LOCI Rammed Earth House Team : Jessica Omar, Timur Imanayev, Davide Dona
The “genius loci” of the environmental context is the starting point for the concept. The volume, form, materials and layout are all conceived to respect the equilibrium of the natural forest, to maximize the use efficiency of natural resources and to let the inhabitants enjoy the surrounding landscape in a rustic environment. The volume is located near the southern edge of the project site in an opening between the trees and in immediate proximity to the existing trail. It’s made up of two slopes that are placed next to each other but in opposite directions and shifted longitudinally inward. The east slope is rising from north to south and covering the day area (kitchen, living room, total 15 square meters) the west slope is rising from south to north and covering the night area (bathroom, bedroom, total 15 square meters). The double roof that is formed from such arrangement is supported by three rammed earth walls, the distance between each wall is three meters. The form defines the house layout and functions, on either side there is a full-height glass opening that allows the view of the forest and can be fully opened to connect the indoor space with the outdoor space. The bathroom is situated behind the bedroom and is divided into two zones, an open vestibule containing the sink and a closed one containing the toilet and shower. The bedroom and the living room are linked together with the vestibule. The house implements several active and passive sustainability features: green roof, rain water harvesting and re-use, thermal and solar energy collection, heating, thermal inertia and thermal mass. These features are meant to improve the living conditions as well as building efficiency and self-sufficiency. Roles : Concept, 2D drawing and rendering, detail drawing, 3D interior, diagrams
