GOLDEN HOUR

For us, luxury isn’t loud. It’s a hand-stitched hem, a brass buckle catching the last light, turquoise that gets worn every day. For Fall 2026, we took the textures of the West — suede, shearling, denim, fringe — and finished them with a gilded hand: gold hardware, jeweled necklines, equestrian silks, deep forest greens. Polished enough for the party, yet grounded enough for the porch — this is a collection for the best light of the day, and the best season of the year.

I started our company in 1979 with my husband, Lonnie. We've been family-owned and privately run since. Our entire collection is still designed in Los Angeles, California, where our company began and remains based today. I was born in Barberton, Ohio — a small town of just under 30,000 people. When I was nine, my parents made a brave decision to build a life with more sunshine and fewer harsh winters. They packed up our home and moved us (my sister and me) all the way across the country to Santa Barbara, California. Living just steps from the Pacific Ocean in the 1970s felt magical. I fell in love with our new home instantly. I embraced every part of becoming a California girl — from celebrating Fiesta days, to surfing in Santa Barbara, to eventually following my passion for fashion design to Los Angeles. LA is where I met my husband, Lonnie, and where the idea for our family company first took shape. In the 1980s and 1990s, we welcomed our two sons, who have grown into the heart of our business today. Our oldest, Michael, now serves as our president, and our younger son, Robert, works beside me in designing each new collection. Coming to work every day is truly one of my greatest joys — not just because I get to create, but because I get to create with my children. And now, just the way we once brought Michael and Robert into the office as little kids, I get to watch my three granddaughters toddle through the same rooms, discovering this world the way their dads once did. It’s a beautiful full-circle moment, and it makes our family business feel even more meaningful.

APPLE-PECAN SKILLET CAKE with BROWN BUTTER

Fall calls for something warm from the oven. Crisp apples, toasted pecans and maple come together in this brown butter skillet cake — a simple autumn dessert made for cool evenings and second helpings.

Serves 8 | Prep 20 min | Bake 30 min

Ingredients – ½ cup unsalted butter

– 2 crisp apples, peeled and thinly sliced – ¾ cup packed brown sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla – ½ cup sour cream

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder – ½ teaspoon cinnamon

– ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

– ½ cup toasted pecans, roughly chopped – 2 tablespoons maple syrup

– flaky sea salt, optional

Directions – Heat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in a 10-inch cast-iron

skillet over medium heat and cook until golden brown and smells nutty. Pour most of the brown butter into a mixing bowl, leaving enough behind to coat the skillet.

– Arrange 3/4 of the apple slices in skillet, overlapping

them. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp of brown sugar and cook for 3–4 minutes, just until the apples begin to soften.

– Whisk the remaining brown sugar into the brown butter in the mixing bowl. Add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Fold in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until combined, then stir in half the pecans. – Spoon batter over apple, add a top layer of apples,

and bake for 28–35 minutes, until golden and a tester comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle with maple syrup and scatter remaining toasted pecans over the top. A tiny pinch of flaky sea salt makes the maple
