Degree Programme in International Business The Degree Programme in International Business enables you to develop expertise required in global business. The main focus of the studies is on international marketing as a part of successful business. Graduates with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree are equipped with the skills to work in international business in the global labour market. You can use your competence to create an interesting career in companies or to establish your own business.

After graduation, you can work in assistant and expert positions in export business, marketing or sales. Additionally, you are able to develop such abilities and skills that enable you to carry out management and leadership duties.

Bachelor of Engineering

Degree Programme in Industrial Management An engineer graduated from Industrial Management is the most sought professional in international large and medium-sized companies. This degree awarding education combines technology, business and management skills. You will receive great boost towards your future career, as Karelia UAS has over 100 years of experience in business and 60 years of experience as an instructor in technology.

The four-year degree gives you strong expertise in intelligent production (IoT, Lean, Robotics, Quality, Data Analysis), sales, product and service life cycle management, and in team and project leadership. The major international business partners of our university participate actively in the training. The needs and visions of leaders in this field are reflected in the teaching content and ways of studying.

Guidance by Counsellors and Student Tutors

Throughout your studies, you will be supported by our systematic and flexible counselling system which includes regular meetings with your teacher tutor and the support of the study counsellor. In the beginning of your studies, you will be appointed with a student tutor who helps you to adjust to the new surroundings, settling in your study group and offering peer support and guidance.

Learn to Know Finland with a Friend Family

The Friend Family Activity is meant for international students who want to get to know Finnish families, culture and everyday life and practice their Finnish language skills. It works both ways: the students who want to take part are encouraged to introduce their own culture while they spend some time with their Finnish friend or family.

Meet Friends with Student Union POKA

The Student Union POKA offers an opportunity for students to get together in a nice, relaxed atmosphere on Wärtsilä Campus. The programme is created by students themselves and includes get-togethers with board games, movies, cooking and handicrafts or just hanging out together. The programme is organised also online.

On Wärtsilä Campus you will find a multicultural atmosphere. Business, engineering, forestry and tourism students work towards their professional futures together on the campus. On the campus, you will enjoy a relaxed learning environment as a member of a wide community.

Tuition fee

Applicants with non-Finnish qualifications attach the required enclosures to their application form by 27 January 2021 at 3.00 pm Finnish time.

The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA students is 5 500 euros for an academic year. The fee for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration completed in 3.5-years is 19 250 euros and for Bachelor of Engineering completed in 4 years 22 000 euros.

Karelia UAS provides fee-paying students with scholarships.

The scholarship for first-year students is 50% of the first academic year’s fee and it can be applied for directly when filling in the joint application form. To receive the scholarship, the student needs to accept the study place and pay the remaining 50% of the tuition fee within 10 days from the date the study place has been admitted.

As of 1 January 2020, Karelia UAS provides fee-paying students with a scholarship also based on Finnish language skills. Students can be awarded with a scholarship two times during their studies based on their level of Finnish language and provided that they have gained 55 credits per academic year.

The official SAT result report must be delivered by 8 April 2020 at 3.00 pm Finnish time. Karelia’s SAT code is 7782.

There are exemptions from the fee for e.g. students with a long-term EU residence permit in Finland.
