Tell us about yourself.

I am originally from Orangeburg, SC but resides in Greeleyville, SC with my husband, McKeever Conyers, Sr., and our two sons, McKeever, 18 and McKenzie, 15. I am a graduate of Rasmussen University with anAAS in Early Childhood. Currently, I am a long term sub at Kingstree Middle Magnet School of theArts (Principal, Dr. Relus Lucear, Go Jaguars!) I have been in dance ministry since 1999. In addition, I also have a Facebook ministry calledThis is Our Journey which was birthed in pain 3 years after the sudden loss of my daughter, McKaylan Elizabeth. Although this ministry was birthed in pain, it was also birthed in purpose—to provide a safe outlet for grieving parents to share their feelings, stories, and struggles. I attendApostolic Faith Church where my pastor is Rev. Reginald Segres. Here I serve as an usher, Sunday school teacher, and Black History Program Coordinator. I also choreograph worship dances for girls in my congregation age 6-19 for our special services.

Why did you decide to become a Kappa Queen?

I became a Kappa Queen because I like the Christian standpoint that the sorority takes. I also like the fact that a prospective sister does.

Share with us your experience as a Kappa Queen. When I became a Kappa Queen on February 11, 2021, I, as well as other sorors, were warmly welcomed into the sisterhood in our Facebook group. We are favored by weekly empowerment by our founder as well as monthly prayer by whosoever will.

If someone could read a book about your life, what is one thing that you would want them to know about you? If ever a book were written by me, I would want people to know that I love my children and that I am able to connect with other children.

What is one of your “go-to” Scriptures and why?

The sorority emphasizes that as queens, we are to walk in 1 Peter 2:9: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…” Kappa Epsilon Lambda (Kingdom Elegant Women) is more than just a group of ladies coming together.

What is a lesson you’ve in life that you like to share with others?

My dancing is an outward expression of my inward relationship with Him. I believe that worship dance is a tool that can be used to prophesy, lead souls to Christ, and to deliver.

What are your hobbies, interests, or things that bring you joy? Writing has been a hobby for me since the age of ten. I also enjoy gardening, reading, and working logic puzzles.
