…because your mental health matters too!

Tell us about yourself.
I am Oshele Bowie Byrd, wife, educator, entrepreneur, author, Evangelist, but most of all servant of the most high God.As a graduate of Dillard University (BAin vocal performance),CEO of Lov3moves, LLC, Pastor of Word of Faith Family Worship Center, my goal is simply to spread love through the gifts that God has given me. I started my business Lov3moves on the foundation of creating a safe place of healing from mental health issues through coaching and empowerment sessions.

Throughout my life I have struggled with many battles in my mind; depression, fear, and anxiety especially. I believe that if I can create this safe place, true healing can take place instead of people hiding inside of themselves for years, not living life to their fullest potential. Out of this, I have written and published Dying to Procrastination, a 17 day devotion journal to provide help others break out into their calling and Lov3moves essentials, really catering to the mind, body, and spirit.
Why did you decide to become a Kappa Queen?
I became a Kappa Queen because I wanted to be a part of a sisterhood with similar values and a heart of Christ pushing and encouraging each other to be the best version of ourselves.
Share with us your experience as a Kappa Queen. My experience as a Kappa Queen has been phenomenal. The ladies in this sorority truly are after God’s heart. Every time we meet, we are uplifted and empowered! The sisterhood stands true whether we’re doing events or not.

If someone could read a book about your life, what is one thing that you would want them to know about you? If someone could read a book about me, above all else I would want them to know that I am an Overcomer! I have lived to be victorious in every aspect of my life and it’s only because of God’s grace and mercy.

What is one of your “go-to” Scriptures and why?
My “go-to” scripture comes from Psalms 23:2-3 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the path of righteousness, for his name’s sake. Whenever I need guidance or peace, he leads me to his water and I am made whole. Being near the water allows me to cast my cares out into the water and receive words from God.
What is a lesson you’ve in life that you like to share with others?

When it comes to your mental health, I say, take care of you everyday at all costs. Oftentimes we are running and going through our everyday lives without taking care of ourselves, and when we need peace or confidence or self love, we have nothing to pull from. Do something for yourself every day, release every day, rest everyday, and drink water everyday
What are your hobbies, interests, or things that bring you joy? Whenever I need guidance or peace, he leads me to his water and I am made whole. Being near the water allows me to cast my cares out into the water and receive words from God.
