LELA ROSE AFTER-PARTY!

Join us immediately following the luncheon for a special book signing and After-Party at the Lela Rose boutique at Highland Park Village!

Dear friends,

We are so very thrilled to welcome you to the 28th year of Kappa Tablescapes! Kappa Tablescapes was founded to help raise critically needed funds for our selected beneficiaries by featuring the creativity of the Dallas design community. This year’s benef iciaries include Behind Every Door, The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology, The Magdalen House and The Senior Source. Your generous support allows us to partner in their mission to serve others.

We are delighted to have an incredible group of talented designers. They have imagined, produced and executed truly one-of-a-kind tablescapes.

This year, we honor two very special Kappa Alumnae: Louise Griffeth as our 2022 Platinum Key Honoree and Jan Hegi as our 2022 Honorary Chair. Their service and commitment to our community are an inspiration to all. Our Tablescapes committee members have helped make this event possible, along with our incredible underwriters and sponsors, especially Central Market, Highland Park Village and Sewell Automotive Group. We are endlessly grateful to each of you!

We also wish to thank the enormously talented fashion designer Lela Rose for serving as our featured speaker. Her love of style and entertaining is awe-inspiring, and we are tremendously honored by her presence at Tablescapes.

It is so very special and such a privilege for us to co-chair this event together, as we were Kappa Kappa Gamma Pledge sisters at SMU in 1993. We do hope you will enjoy this year’s Kappa Tablescapes!

With sincere gratitude and appreciation, Susan Glassmoyer and Victoria Snee Kappa Tablescapes Co-Chairmen 2022

SPECIAL THANKS

In addition to our incredible Kappa sisters, we want to express our sincere appreciation to those who contributed to the success of this year’s Tablescapes:

Each year, the Tablescapes Chairmen select an outstanding member of our alumnae group to serve as the Platinum Key Honoree. We can think of no one more deserving than Kappa Tablescapes co-founder, Louise Griffeth. Louise pledged Kappa at the University of Texas. Her mother, sister and grandmother were all Kappas as well. She has been an integral part of the Dallas Alumnae Association serving as President of the Kappa Junior Alum Group as well as serving on the SMU Gamma Phi House Board and on the Foundation Board. Louise has also received the Kappa Distinguished Alumnae Award. Her deep commitment to the community includes numerous other organizations including the Bullock Texas State History Museum Foundation Board, Crystal Charity Ball, Equest, Sons of the Flag, the Junior League of Dallas, and St. Michael and All Angels Church. Louise and her husband of nearly 50 years, Guy, have two sons, Spence and Teal, and a daughter-in-love, Annie.

Behind Every Door exists to see the fullness of the Kingdom of God transform lives in underserved neighborhoods. We run community centers and build relationships to create spaces for transformation. We purchased the Cedar Crest Community Center, a 50-year staple of the South Oak Cliff community, previously owned by The Salvation Army. This eight-acre property includes a 20,000-square-foot community center, a 4,000-square-foot church building, and a full-size football field. We believe this community center will not only fill a critical vacuum in the community but become the premier destination for supportive activities like sports and enrichment for South Oak Cliff and the broader Southern Dallas community.

The Magdalen House is committed to helping alcoholic women and their families establish long-term, sustainable recovery by providing effective and accessible programming based on 12-Step spiritual principles. Founded in Dallas, The Magdalen House remains the only agency in the area to offer recovery services at no cost and without ongoing government assistance for programming or payment from insurance. After 35 years, The Magdalen House continues to play a vital role in changing the lives of thousands of alcoholic women and their families, ultimately creating a healthier and thriving community.

For more than 50 years, The Center for Integrative Counseling & Psychology has been shining a light on mental health helping people navigate life's challenges - from trauma, marital conflict, abuse, addiction, children struggling in school, suicide and loss. Funding from Kappa Tablescapes will provide life-saving counseling to women, children and families living in poverty through our PACT Program (Partnerships for Accessible Counseling and Training). By aligning with established nonprofits, The Center is boots-on-the-ground in underserved communities, especially schools and after-school programs. The ripple-effect is changing communities and families.

For 60 years, The Senior Source has been the go-to resource in the Dallas area for older adults and their loved ones to navigate aging. The Senior Source gives active older adults a sense of purpose through volunteering; we provide resources and support for family caregivers; we fiercely protect residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and we improve the financial security of all older adults through employment assistance, frauds and scams education and money management. The Elder Financial Safety Center at The Senior Source is a safe and trusted place for older adults and their loved ones to get expert, professional, and unbiased guidance to ensure financial well-being- from essential needs to helping those who have experienced financial exploitation.
