iscover Fun in Kannapolis returns this summer with an incredible line-up of great concerts, movies and, of course, fireworks. Events will be held from April to August.

All events are free to the public.

Air Supply

Sunday Music Series: Diane Durrett & Soul Suga Veterans Park

This year’s Village Park Saturday Concert line-up includes the legendary Air Supply; Don Felder of The Eagles; Mother’s Finest; Everclear; Fastball and The Nixons; and country superstar Tracy Lawrence.

Additional opportunities to hear live free music concerts include Thursdays on Main with beach music, and the Sunday Music Series on the first and third Sundays, which will feature diverse performances from a variety of genres.

The Village Park Family Movie Series returns on Fridays and a Spanish version of the movies will be shown on Sundays at Atrium Health Ballpark.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Now Available at Kannapolis City Hall The City has installed its first electric vehicle charging stations. Located at Kannapolis City Hall on Laureate Way, the charging stations are conveniently located within walking distance of Atrium Health Ballpark and the restaurants and shops on West Avenue.

TO USE: Park in one of the designated spaces and download the free Shell Recharge app. Enter your credit card information and the app activates the charger. A nominal fee will be assessed based on the amount of time your vehicle needs to be charged.

Five Steps for Grilling Safety Keep combustibles 10 feet from the heat!

Grills should be kept outdoors and be at least 10 feet away from the house, deck railing and low-hanging branches when in use and while cooling down.

Keep “the littles” three feet from the heat!

A safety zone of at least three feet should be kept around your grill for the safety of your children and pets.

Once your vehicle is charging, you can walk to the ballpark or visit any of the downtown restaurants and shops. You will receive a message from the Shell Recharge app when your vehicle is finished charging.

A clean grill is a safe grill!

Clean your grill after each use or before using. Fat residue can contribute to grill fires.

Always protect your hands!

Use grilling gloves and long utensils designed for grilling to avoid getting your hands too close to the heat.

Don’t get “too chill” while you grill!

Leaving a grill unattended is the leading cause of grill fires. Avoid distractions while grilling.
