lans for the Downtown Revitalization Project are well underway and the Kannapolis City Council has made several decisions to ensure downtown becomes a catalyst for economic development. Streetscape & Infrastructure A major component of the Kannapolis Downtown Revitalization Plan is the infrastructure and streetscape improvements planned for West Avenue and the surrounding streets. City Council has approved a serpentine streetscape design that is unique, has green space, outdoor dining and social hubs, maintains traffic flow with two roundabounts and parking options, encourages pedestrian activity, provides interaction between businesses downtown and preserves the historic core of the city.

This program is designed for girls ages five and up to be accompanied by their dad, stepdad, grandpa, big brother, uncle or other special guy. Dressy to casual attire. For tickets, call 704-920-4343 or visit www.kannapolisnc.gov.

“The streetscape is critical to creating an experience for the people who will live, visit and play in our city. While it is an outdoor space, it is our living room, and we want everyone to feel welcome, to spend time here and ultimately visit the businesses we expect to attract downtown,” commented Kannapolis City Manager Mike Legg.

Did you get a new television for Christmas? Will you get a new one for the Super Bowl? Please do not discard your old one at the curb. We cannot pick up old televisions and other electronics per North Carolina law. Bring televisions and other electronics to the Public Works facility for disposal – 1401 Bethpage Road. Call 704-920-4200 for more information.
