Origin Oslo, Norway Location Barcelona, Spain Languages Norwegian
My origins are set by my Indian mother and my Norwegian father, what I would call the best of both worlds. Being raised in a country that ensures your future with every privilege given, compared to lacking the quality to something that should be treated at a minimum standard, showed me that opportunities are not to be taken for granted. Growing up, I danced classical ballet, speed running, theatre and hockey. Together it taught me self-discipline, that progress takes time, and to hold my head high regardless or my results. After graduating high school, I felt lost on what my next step should be. I was open to trials and applied to business school. Regardless to my commitment, the course together with my personal and professional growth was not stimulating enough for my underlying needs. I needed new cultural, social and ethnic input which led me to where I am today. As a designer, I am still on the path of defining my niche and identity. Frequently, my inspiration derives from Tadao Ando, Le Corbusier and Arne Jacobsen. From where I stand today, I believe that three design principles will guide me onwards; Emphasising the relation between the individual to its surroundings, implying innovative use of the resources we already possess and executing effortless functionality. My greatest academic interests lays in critical thinking, ideation and questioning why things are as they are. Not only to grow my general knowledge, but to honestly understand what I am pursuing, why and how to use it in my future profession.

SHIFTABLE The work is based on modularity in design and how a modular design can solve a spacing issue. It aimed to create a modular table, inspired by the Korean designer Jin Young Lee. The setting for the design was set to highlight the design`s function at a cafe/bar, used as a study spot during the day, and as a social environment in the evening. The two materials used, wood and metal, were purposely chosen as the materials can be modular and flexible themselves.
A standard measure of a table is 60cm x 50cm, meaning that if one wheelchair user would to sit on a table meant for six people there would only be room for four. To include wheelchair users the measurement was changed to 60cm x 70cm x 170cm to the lowest counter. The flexibility to the different countertops proposes that the users choses to interact with the design, in what way they would like to sit, how many they are and in what height. The difference from this design to a standard table, is the efficient use of space to the workers, and the inclusion of every user.

The composition consists of two elevations and one master plan. The concept is to emphasize the feeling of living in a neighbourhood and portraying the lifestyle, easily recognized. Using a monochrome palette, the contrasting saturations of the different elements is therfore highlighted in each drawing. The first two drawings has their focal point set as if the viewer was watching the setting live, while the master plan has a top view of the project, centred in its surroundings. Choosing to emphasize the surroundings and lifestyle of the building was an interesting aspect as an interior designer. It gave a new persepective of analyzing and portraying a design from the outside and in, instead of focusing solemnly on the interior characteristics and what it achieves in its essence.
The project is a redesign of Le Corbusier`s Unite D`union Habitation in Marseille, based on an artist of our own choosing, and its needs. Our requirements were not to change the plumbing system, hallway and balconies. During covid-19 the whole world changed their daily routines of environments, therfore the aim for this project was to create a space for our client to express their artistic side, as if the client was working remotely. The chosen client was a freelance ballet dancer. I set the client`s list of needs to be abstract in order to explore and to be open minded, in stead of choosing fixed needs, such as a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and toilet.

The main concept was inspired by the typology of having a bonfire as the centre of attention and as a social point, projecting it to the kitchen being placed in the heart of the apartment. Entering the apartment you find the entrance with a guestroom acompanied by a guestroom also used as an office. Walking down you find the dance studio to the right, and the kitchen, followed by the dining area.
I chose to join two apartments horizontally with an open floorplan to create an enlarged space for the client, adding twice as much space. In addition, the boundary of the structure aligning through the centre, changes its rythm to highlight a continuous circulation through the apartment.

In terms of practicality, there is minimal furniture such as shelves and storage space to achieve the experience of an unsoiled area, and to expell dust.

The double height between the two floors gives natural lighting to the dance studio and kitchen. To emphasize the sound of the piano, it is located under the void to spread harmony between the two levels.
The arches are added to break the strickt appearance 1/:50 of symmetry. The staircase is mirrored from its original placement, to give space to the long kitchen counter.

The bathroom and kitchen are positioned in alignment, serving as a wetroom cluster to minimalize the occupation of vertical installations.

FANZINE: PICASSO The project contains a fanzine about picasso and his works as a painter. The assignment was to analyze an existing magazine`s structure and grids in order to create our own master pages. The project aimed to explore layout, composition of pages and combination of different elements. This project made me realize how important it is to define a structure of representation. The way to occpy the space of the measurable plane, the design, the layout, the grids- the design.
THE TILE
JUMPTHEGAP COMPETITION 2021
The tile is a ceramic bathroom tile that can be heated and used as a weight scale. The surface is divided by a joint crossing through four sections, letting water that drips off, to allow it to evaporate. The weight scale is measured by eight sensors and the display show the time, temperature and weight of the tile.
This product is designed to solve the problem of unnecssary overflood of water, piled bacteria, moist and spacing. The tile solves these issues by evaporating water from the heating cables and its materials not attracting bacteria or leaving it moist. The spacing issue is solved by assembling additions that would normally take place as an object alone.
Each part is divided by a joint that allows a quick removal of all superficial liquid, as an unnoticeable inclination of 2% guides the water to a centrally placed drainage point, underneath the surface. The heating cables covers all four undersides of the tiles, supplying an evenly distributed electric heat of a sensorselected temperature. Both cables and sensors re placed to not interact with any flowing substance. The temperature of the tile is projected by the sensors from the body temperature of the user.
The system is a tectonic composition of relatively few, main elements. A display with shown information is clearly visible, placed on top of the tile surface, connecting the information from and to the user. The fourfold surface of ceramic initiates contact between the product and its user.
Each tile is supported by two sensors each, continuously collecting data for the user. All components are sectioned into a rectangular, wooden frame with all cables safely organized along its border.

The tile includes a wide spectre of users. With its eight sensors, dividing four sensors for each leg, users with disabilities will also ble able to use the design.
SUSTAINABILITY
The materials used in is steel, glass, recycled ceramic and wood. The overflood of water is solved by it evaporating, leaving no waste of water.
TIMELESSNESS
The design is composed by a seamless design with clean lines and neutral materials blending the old and reused materials with the advanced technology.
ADAPTABILITY
The surface of the tile can be changed and adapt to a user`s own bathroom tiles. The heating temperature is projected by the user`s own body temperature.
