Note: The requirement of a Certificate of disability is mandated under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Act, 2016 (RPwD Act, 2016). Using the certificate, people with disabilities can avail benefits of different government schemes. CBSE has launched ‘Dost for Life’, an exclusive psychological counselling app for students and parents.

Energy capacity addition declined by almost 50%.

Note: The decline in capacity addition in India has been attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the Global level, the annual renewable capacity additions increased 45% to almost 280 GW (up from 190 GW in 2019), which is the highest year-on year increase since 1999.

Note: It will provide coverage for hospitalization expenses, death, permanent complete or partial disablement due to an accident, for travel through taxi, bus, train, ship, and airplane in the country. The base cover will provide coverage for hospitalization expenses

Note: Scientists say the VNN disease is a serious threat affecting many marine, brackishwater and freshwater fish causing up to 100% mortality in larval and early juvenile stages. The disease is caused by nervous necrosis virus (NNV). Red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus(RGNNV) is the only genotype prevalent in India and most other tropical countries. With Microsoft, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has signed an MoU for digital transformation of Tribal schools such as Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), Ashram Schools, and other schools under

MoTA.

Note: Under the agreement, Microsoft will make the

Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum available to tribal students in English and Hindi at all EMRS schools. This is to ensure inclusion and access. During the 1st phase of the program, 250 EMRS schools will be adopted by

Microsoft for the purpose. 29. India country hosted the ‘GOA MARITIME SYMPOSIUM (GMS)-21’ in which 13 Indian Ocean Littoral Countries

42. IIM Indore has partnered with The Deutsche

Note: For this IIM Indore has received a research grant of Rs 85.3 lakh. Flipkart partnered with Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) for fast-track deployment of electric vehicles across its logistics fleet.

Plastic Entering the Marine Environment” on Technical cooperation with Germany over a virtual event in New

Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH India signed the agreement on behalf of the government of Germany.

1. In Ladakh the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed the highest motorable road in the world at the height of 19,300 feet at Umlingla Pass.

Note: The BRO has constructed a 52-km long blacktopped road through Umlingla Pass, bettering the previous record of a road in Bolivia connecting to its volcano Uturuncu at 18,953 ft. The road at Umlingla

Pass now connects the important towns in the Chumar sector of Eastern Ladakh. 2. Uttarakhand govt has launched earthquake early warning mobile application, titled as ‘Bhookamp Alert’.

Note: It is India’s first earthquake early warning’ app for notifying people about earthquake alerts. It has been developed by IIT Roorkee, in association with

Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA). It can detect the onset of the earthquake and issue warnings regarding an earthquake occurrence in

the neighbourhood and the expected time of arrival and intensity at the location to prevent any loss of life. 3. Madhya Pradesh govt has won five Skoch Awards 2021 (a platinum, agold and three silver awards) in four categories of governance.

Note: The MSME & textile department led from the front and won four out of the five awards, including the top two. The department’s single-window system called Shilpa Sathi was selected for the highest award category, platinum. Another MSME project, autorenewal of certificate of enlistment through online system for urban areas, won the gold award. 4. Manipur’s Investment Promotion Society signed an

Corporations are covered under the eNagar project. 8. Delhi state government has launched faceless transport services that will bring all the driving licences, registration and services related to permit online.

Note: Thislab-cum-research centrewill look into both utility and threat aspects of a drone. It's a public partnership initiative. Sultanpur National Park is located in Haryana that has recently been included in Ramsar site of international importance.

Note: The Ramsar list aims to conserve an international network of wetlands that are important for sustaining biological diversity. The wetlands that received the tag are Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary and

Sultanpur National Park from Haryana; and Thol Lake

Wildlife Sanctuary and Wadhvana Wetland from

Gujarat. While these are the first two wetlands in

Haryana to be recognised under the Ramsar

Bhumihin Majdur Nyay Yojana'.

Note: The Chhattisgarh government has launched the 'Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumihin Majdur Nyay Yojana', with the provision of₹200 crores benefiting 12 lakh landless families. The scheme was announced in the state legislature on July 28, by the Chief Minister of

Uttar Pradesh state government has decided to set up training centre for Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commandos. Note: The UP government has decided to set up new training and operational centres for Anti-Terrorism

Squad (ATS) commandos in Saharanpur’s Deoband –known for its Islamic seminary Darul Uloom, and four other places in UP. The government has allotted 2,000 sq m land for the purpose. The other strategic places where the commando operational centres will be set up include Jewar (Gautam Buddh Nagar), where new international airport is coming up and Meerut district in west UP. Similar centres will come up in Bahraich and Shravasti districts on the Indian-Nepal border. 21. Odisha state has launched Smart Health Cards to provide healthcare facilities to all.

US-based Ohmium International Ltd has started India’s first green hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing unit in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

1. Andhra Pradesh government has unveildthe new ‘AP

Information Technology Policy 2021-24’, that is expected to generate more than 55,000 jobs over the next three years.

Delhi state government has launched ‘Mukhyamantri

COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojna, a social sector scheme for COVID 19 affected families.

Note: It is a social security scheme for COVID-19affected families. Under the scheme, Delhi government will disburse an ex gratia payment of ₹50,000 for each death to the family of the deceased and ₹2,500 monthly to those families who have lost breadwinners.

Children who were orphaned would be provided ₹2,500 monthly till they turn 25. 3. Panchmuli lake is located in Gujarat from where as many as 194 crocodiles have been relocated for the safety of tourists.

Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota. 5. Andhra Pradesh has launched the ‘YSR Bima’ scheme with new guidelines, where the government itself will directly pay the insurance amount to the family of the deceased to make the insurance claims easier.

Note: In order to support 1.32 lakh families through the YSR Bima scheme, the State government allocated Rs 750 crores for the year 2021-22. In the last two years, the State government had spent Rs

1307 crore for YSR Bima.

6. West Bengal government has launched ‘Students

Credit Card’ an education loan scheme for the students aiming for higher studies.

Note: The scheme will provide soft loan uptoRs. 10 lakhwith simple annual interest.The loan will be available for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral studies within the country or abroad.

Students residing in the state for at least 10 years will be eligible for the scheme till 40 years of age and can repay the loan in 15 years. 7. Karnataka government is planning to introduce the

Model Tenancy Act in the state, aimed at ending tenant-owner disputes within two months and aiding the rental housing sector.

Note: The tweaked tenancy law —once brought in — will help owners get tenants and rentals will soften a bit. The Centre sent the law to states either to enact fresh legislation based on the template or suitably amend the existing laws. Without a valid notice, tenants cannot be evicted during the agreement period.

India (STPI), an autonomous body under MeitY. 23. Gujarat state government has launched e-launched

Agricultural Diversification Scheme-2021 that will benefit vanbandhu-farmers in tribal areas.

The scheme will benefit more than 1.26 lakh farmers from 14 tribal districts of the state. Under this scheme tribal farmers will get fertilizer-seed assistance of Rs 31 crores in which 45 kg of urea, 50 kg of NPK and 50 kg of ammonium sulphate will be provided. 24. Delhi state government has launched Mukhya Mantri

Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana.

Note: This will offer a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 and one-time compensation of ₹50,000 to the families of those who have lost their earning member due to Covid-19. These benefits will be in addition to the ongoing social welfare scheme of the Delhi govt such as old-age pension and widow pension. Govt will also look after health and education needs of dependent children. 25. Goa becomes the first rabies-free state in the country.

Note: As there not a single case of rabies has been registered the last three years. The task of rabies control has been carried out by Mission Rabies project, which is being run through a central government grant. 26. Telangana state government has announced Rs 10 lakh financial assistance to eligible Dalit beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Dalit Empowerment Programme.

Note: The amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the selected Dalit beneficiaries as was

done in the case of Rythu Bandhu Scheme. In the first phase, the assistance would be given to 100 families selected from each of the 119 Assembly Constituencies. 27. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has inaugurated

Odisha state government has declared working journalists as Frontline Covid Warriors and have been covered under Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima

Yojana.
