Message from the Executive Director
On behalf of all of us at the Kamloops Symphony, welcome to An Evening with Sarah Slean, our next programme as part of our Kelson Group Pop Series.
We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Sarah to Kamloops this weekend. This incredibly versatile artist is sure to inspire you with her captivating voice, and her genre-bending performance abilities.

Also, in the second half of tonight’s programme, Sarah will be paying homage to another legendary Canadian songstress: Joni Mitchell. As some of you may have heard, Joni was recently honoured with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize, the first Canadian to be awarded the honour, and only the third woman.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to showcase these incredibly talented women, along with of course our Music Director Dina Gilbert, and the female musicians of our orchestra. Although we have a long way to go to achieve gender equality in the music industry, we at the Kamloops Symphony are determined to play a part in balancing the scales.
Enjoy tonight’s performance!
Daniel Mills Executive Director Kamloops Symphony
The Kamloops Symphony wishes to acknowledge that this concert is taking place on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc territory within the traditional lands of the Secwépemc Nation.
