Aspirin and champagne for classic car collectors The idea for the Collectors' Office is quite simple and derives from my own experience and needs as a collector of classic cars. When I started to buy my first cars at auctions and from dealers in Europe and America, I quickly realized that buying and owning classic cars is a lot of fun but can also be a headache. Fortunately, our business, Kaiser Partner, included a professional family office service team, which offered everything I needed to handle the legal, tax, insurance, customs, banking and administrative matters associated with my collection. This has made it much easier for me to enjoy my passion for sports cars from the 1950s and '60s. The team at Kaiser Partner also quickly set up a suitable structure for me, with a trust to own, manage and administer my collection of cars in different countries. This also presented me with an opportunity to plan and organize what happens to the collection when I'm gone – well, you never know.

So we called this my Collectors' Office - a kind of family office for a car collector. My discussions with fellow aficionados encouraged us to open this special office up to other likeminded classic car owners looking for their own bespoke, crossborder solutions. Over the years, the team at Kaiser Partner have become experts in this field, and they are very well connected. They now work for The Classic Car Trust Collectors' Office, which has been set up to focus on the needs of collectors. The Classic Car Trust has also developed an ever-growing network of friends and a directory of key people at auction houses, dealers, organizers of top events, car valuation experts, restoration shops, photo studios, the FIVA, historic archives, the media and many more. Mille Miglia The Mille Miglia, “thousand miles”, was an endurance race from Brescia in northern Italy to Rome and back, held between 1927 and 1957. Due to frequent fatal crashes the race was banned in 1957, but in 1982 the Mille Miglia was revived for classic cars. It is the one race every aficionado should take part in at least once in their lives. Enzo Ferrari called the route through the stunning landscapes of northern Italy "the most beautiful race in the world".
Concorso d’Eleganza Cernobbio is a quiet village on Lake Como in Italy. Life here is relaxed, but once a year, usually at the end of May, it becomes the center of the classic car world. The most refined car show in the world has been held at its most prestigious hotel, Villa d’Este, since the 1920s.
Pebble Beach Pebble Beach is home to the world's most important classic car concourse of elegance. To enter a car in the event is already an achievement, to win a class is a dream for even the biggest players in the classic car world. And it's simply impossible to overstate how much it means, for both car and owner, to be declared best in show.
Goodwood Revival In the classic car world, if it's fall you know it's time to dress up for the Goodwood Revival. The event was created in 1998 by Lord March, the landlord of the country estate of Goodwood. His aim was to recreate the spirit and races of the period when Goodwood race track was officially in use between 1948 and 1966.
