Elegant materials: rough concrete and shiny glass. Bit of hi-tech with complicated steel structural roof and expressive steel ribbon in red - color of PKN - a pathway leading visitors through the meanders of exhibitions. With the multifunctional Auditorium breaking up the regular rhythm of facade extruded to the outside. PKN Orlen is one of the biggest company in Poland and the biggest oil refinery in Central-Eeast Europe. It’s located in Płock - my hometown. The goal of the project was to create a unique building which would serve as both educational and scientifical centre for the local community and as representative of the company which normally is closed for the public due to security measures on a daily basis.

At the corner of the Old Town Market Square and the street being the extension of the main 4km axis of the city.Trying to re-connect 2 urban structures of Old town (15th century) and New Town (19th centrury) separated by the Park built during re-building of the former Jewish Neighbourhood after WW2 on en empty corner-plot. Red bricks (the material of the bricks used widely in industrial buildings of Lodz - one of the fastest growing cities in Europe: from 331 people in 1815 to more than 600 000 in 1915) making the base to the glass curtain facade of the two floor stretching above covered with wooden lamellas simultaneously seperating and connecting to the park, melting with the trees during the day and being like a lamp in the park in the night.

Project of the new public library in Cesena is located in the heart of the historic city. The urban context is very important - between the old library - Biblioteca Malatestiana and Palazzo Ghini which is also signiďŹ cant in urban tissue. The building has simple form: the long block of two different heights (to open the view from balcony of the Pallazzo Ghieni towards the Malatestiana) The width is referenced from the Malatestiana. The volume is not very big but ďŹ lls the space completely: closes the small piazetta (cortile) of the Pallazzo Ghini and creates two gardens on the sides of the old Library. Light enters to the library through the system of the skylights, and between lamellas in the windows on each floor providing diffused light very important in libraries.

Contrast. Positive - negative. Black and white. Dark and bright, underground and overground, closed and open. All of these 3 small conceptual projects have this one thing in common. 2 cubes on top. They look same, right? In fact, they are identical. It was my proposal to demonstrate the idea of contrast. I filled one of them with heavy coins and left the other one paper-light. To know the differenece you need to touch and feel it. I think it’s extremely important to still remember in the computer age that renders and VR can’t always tell you the whole truth...

My role in the project was mostly 3-D modelling in Revit. Material-related studies for walls, floors and ceilings (e.g. stone and colour studies for terazzo flooring; lighting, printing on glass partition walls). Audiotorium design studies: geometry, design, materials, lighting concept (slat geometry, skylight design, integration of A/V components); planning layout and furnishing of the staff canteen and ofďŹ ce areas, designing the main lobby; producing plans and visualisations for presentational purposes, collaborating with external planners (e.g. interior designers). Planning toilet facilities relative to the floorplan, wall design (tiles, lighting concept, etc.) LEED quality views (plans and room list), assesing the design of third-party plans.

Yenchang Urban Mountain - a residential compound of 4 towers connected with each other on different levels with mixed-use levels also in Yancheng, China for CEG Shanghai - I was taking part in the concept design process with the focus on the look of the façade – 3D modelling of different options for the client, Closed competition, won by the office. Surteco Fair Stand on the Interzum Fair 2017 in Cologne - preparing 3D models of the whole stand, details of the furniture, designing elements of the organic wall made of over 100 panels cut by CNC machine, preparing technical drawings for the fair stand builder, preparing presentations for the clients and contractors including 2D CAD files for cutting the organic wall lamellas.
