ALACANANG — The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) has thrown its support behind a bill filed by Sen. Mark Villar, giving mandatory insurance coverage and benefits to the members of the press. In a letter to Villar, PTFoMS Executive Director Usec. Paul M. Gutierrez, said that SB 2335 is

“timely and necessary.” He noted however that Villar’s proposal, filed last July 20, 2023, appears left out in the many bills on media welfare at the Senate that are now being consolidated by the Senate Committee on Labor and Employment for possible passage by the Chamber by this year. DPWH to truckers: Follow Sn Juanico Bridge load limit TACLOBAN City – THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional office here has asked truckers to comply with the anti-overloading law following a recent incident where a truck broke its axle while passing the San Juanico Bridge.

DPWH Eastern Visayas regional director Edgar Tabacon on Monday sought the cooperation of truckers and hauling service providers to adhere to their respective prescribed gross vehicle weight (GVW) and axle load limits.

Operasyon ng Ospital sa Granja, isasalin ng probinsya sa Lipa City LIPA City – OPISYAL nang nilagdaan nina Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas at Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa paglipat ng pamamahala at operasyon ng Lipa City District Hospital, kilala bilang Ospital ng Granja, mula sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Batangas, papunta sa Pamahalaang Panlungsod ng Lipa, sa mismong bisinidad ng ospital, Nobyembre 10. Ayon sa gobernador, ang kasunduang ito ay ang kauna-unahan sa kasaysayan hindi lamang sa Lalawigan ng Batangas, kundi sa buong Pilipinas. Sa ilalim ng Principle of Subsidiarity, nabibigyang-diin ang devolution of basic services at local autonomy ng local government units (LGUs), tulad ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Batangas, kabilang dito ang mag-devolve ng mga responsibilidad para sa pagkakaloob ng mga pangunahing serbisyo at pasilidad na kinabibilangan ng mga serbisyong pangkalusugan ng Lipa City District Hospital (LCDH), na sisimulan nang pamunuan ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod ng Lipa pagsapit ng unang araw ng taong 2024.
