The 41th issue of KÅRK magazine, TERRAE.
Terrae marks the plural of terra - the meaning of multiple earths, multiple types
of soil and naturescapes. In this issue we explore a desire to build and a need to
work with, rather than against, the natural landscape. We challenge our way of
adapting, sourcing and manipulating the earth. Terra is a meditative practice to
understand architecture through natural elements such as energy, typography
and climate in such a way, so we can enhance the potential of these sources.
Nature holds a collective memory for all humans and it is our job to protect this
memory to the best of our abilities. When mankind is no longer perceptible on
the earth, the only remaining remembrance will be the nature, which we left
behind.
KÅRK is a collaborative magazine between students from Aarhus School of
Architecture and The Royal Danish Academy of Architecture. Each semester we
choose a new subject to explore and display.
