"Moochie"

Full of life, Moochie is well known among Mingus students. She was cheerleader her freshman and sophomore years, and has belonged to Pep Club and VOCA. Her future plans may include becoming a secretary and going to Glendale Community Col­ lege, but for now she's interested in Gary and parties.

"Cary"

Although one of us for only a short time, Cary's quick smile and cheerful personality won him many friends. While here, Cary was a reporter for the Spirit staff. His main interests seemed to include Kim Barreras. Crystal Ameson

"Crystie"

If you need a friend, you'll always find Crystie around. Her biggest talent is getting into trouble . . . for well meant deeds. Crystie's future plans include a secretarial course. Just a few of her many interests are handicrafts, sewing, home ec and VOCA. She also was on the Senior float committee for Homecoming.

"Donut"

Bill Ayres

Bill has been active in his years at Mingus, being in Letterman's Club 2, 3,4; Key Club 1,2,3; Student Council 1,2; Football 1,2; Basketball 1,2,3; and Golf 1,2, 3,4. Apart from Golf, Bill's major interests seem to be carpentry and "over indulging in liquids. Anything while I'm loose!" "Shirley"

Shirley Baker

Shirley's outgoing personality has perhaps made her one of the best known students at Mingus. Her pastimes include Pep Club 1,2; snow skiing, horse­ back riding, traveling, and Donnie Mundine. Shirley's future plans include becoming a nurse's aide. "Rick"

Rick Barbarick

A hard worker, Rick can usually be found study­ ing science or math. He is an avid sports fan, and has participated in Wrestling 3,4; Golf 3,4; and National Honor Society. He plans on studying Psychol­ ogy at NAU.

Debbie Bayles

To many, Debs appears quiet, but those who know her won't forget her fun-loving nature. She has participated in many clubs, including Pep Club 1,2, 3, 4; Chorus 1,2,3; Drama 3; and VOCA 4. Debs plans on becoming a dental assistant after attending a Medical and Dental College in Phoenix. Rebecca Bell

Fun-loving and a good sport, Little Biddle has many friends at Mingus. A member of VOCA and Co-op, Jeff works in Sedona. His future plans include going to Florida after graduation, and then studying law and social sciences and N.A.U. and U of A.

David Bill

"Speedy Wheels"

David will be remembered for his white golf shoes and golf. He has been in Key Club 1,2,3; Letterman’s Club 2,3,4; National Honor Society 2,3,4; Football 1,2; basketball 1,2,3; and Student Council Treasurer. David was also Boy’s State Delegate. His pastimes include golf, tennis, and pool. David plans to study dentistry at U of A.

"Paul"

Paul’s probably best known for his wrestling ability. He has been a fine wrestler for four years, and was also in golf and Football 1. Though he seems quiet, Paul's friends will remember his clever remakrs. His plans aren't certain, but he would like to attend Yavapai Junior College or ASU. Roberta Bodam

"Bert"

Bert is usually a quiet person, but when she is loose, you can't keep her quiet. She's interested in the fields of Zoology or Archelogy. Bert plans on attending Yavapai Junior College. She enjoys swim­ ming, horses, tennis, chess, and macrame.

Maria Bradbury

"Mervin"

Maria likes people, and has made many friends in her past year and a half at Mingus. She enjoys music and quiet towns. Maria has participated in Co-op and VOCA this year. Her future plans are to either be­ come an accountant, or to work in a U.S. or Cana­ dian national park.

Don Burtynk

"Don"

Don is new at Mingus this year, but seems to have made many friends. His favorite sport is basketball, but he likes to travel, too. Don would like to visit Chicago. His future includes the business world and Arizona State University. John Buss

"Hook"

John has been a Mingus student for four years. He played football and baseball his freshman, sopho­ more, and junior years, two of which he lettered in. He plans to go into the forest service. John's main interest is riding his chopper.

Stan Carlson

"Stan"

Stan has taken quite an interest in art during his past four years at Mingus. He stays busy in Co-op, but spends his extra hours collecting many different things. Stan's plans include studying Aviation at Yavapai Junior College.

Robin Clough

"Robin"

Always eager to help, Robin can be found in the middle of almost everything. Just a few of the things she has taken an interest in are Pep Club 1,2; Nation­ al Honor Society, Drama 4; Model U.N. 4; and Pom Pons 1,2,4. Robin worked on the Hi-Lo staff this year. She plans on attending ASU.

Beneath her quiet surface, Debbie is usually plotting something. She has been active in FTA, Pep Club, and VOCA. Debbie lists her favorite sport as LUNCH! Her favorite pastimes include sewing and eating. Her plans include becoming a Physical Thera­ pist.

Chuck was a student at Mingus for two years. He participated in Football, Wrestling, and Baseball, and lettered both years in all three. He was crowned homecoming king his senior year. He plans on stay足 ing in the Valley for awhile, and would like to be a pilot someday. Dennis Coon

"Dennis"

Dennis is well known for his affection. He is very considerate and a nice guy. Some of Dennis' accom足 plishments include Football 1,2,3; Wrestling 1,2,3; Track 1, 2, 3; Letterman's Club 3; and VOCA 4. Dennis doesn't know what occupation he wants to go into yet, but his main interest is cars.

"Liz"

A hard worker, Liz is in Co-op and a member of National Honor Society. She has also been in Chorus and a Girl's State Delegate. Liz was elected Homecoming Queen this year. Among her many interests are macrame and sewing. Liz plans on going to ASU and Chapman College. She would like to visit Europe. Susan Davis

"Baroness Von Dimples"

Eager to be friends with everyone, Susan's bubbling personality is known to many Mingus students. She was in VOCA here, and in Pep Club and German Club in California. Just a few of Susan's many inter足 ests are antique collecting and red suspenders. Her future includes Data Processing courses at Yavapai Junior College. "Dana"

Dana Dent

Dana is into many things, including jewelery making. She has been in VOCA this year, and Pep Club her sophomore year. Although Dana has no definite plans for her future, she would like to travel, chiefly to Motsvo, Europe, or Africa.

"Sticks"

Dean DeWitt

Dean is one of those people who never seems to stop smiling and is always busy. Dean has played football four years at Mingus, in which he lettered twice. After high school, Dean plans to go to Glen足 dale Community College, and then go into the Army.

"Jimmy"

Jim Dickinson

Jimmy's friendly to everyone. He's participated in Pep Club, Chess Club, Journalism, and Football. Jimmy's future lies in either law enforcement or ranching, and he plans on attending Yavapai Junior College. His main interest are horses, livestock, hunting, automobiles, and trucks.

"JoAn"

JoAn Duran

If there's a job to do, JoAn can be found helping. An active member of both the annual and newspaper staffs this year, she has also participated in GAA 3,4; Volleyball 3.4; badminton 3, Cheerleading 3,4; Pep Club 3,4; and Library Club 3, and Powder Puff. She plans on going to ASU and majoring in special education.

Mary Durant

"Mary"

Mary isa quiet girl, bur once you get her to talk and laugh you can't get her to quit. She came to Mingus from Tolleson, where she was quite active. Mary was Freshman Class President, F.T.A. Vice President, and Chorus Club Vice President in Tolleson. Her main hobby is collecting oriental antiques.

"Jay"

Jayleen Earl

Jay is friendly to everyone. She has been in Pep Club, National Honor Society, and Vocational Office Club, where she was secretary this year. She lists Pat Tavasci as her main interest this week, and sew足 ing her favorite hobby. Jay's future includes becom足 ing a housewife. Robert Earl

"Bubby"

Although Bubby hasn't been in school most of the year, he's been keeping up on his schoolwork at home. His interests have included walking, mountain climbing (?), and camping. Bubby has been in Key Club 3,4. He wants to go to U of A, where he plans to study architecture.

Many think Gary is serious, but those who know him love his wit and awareness. He has lettered in wrestling three years, and his other interests include hunting, fishing, and most sports. Although Gary has no definite plans, he thinks he will attend N.A.U. "Yvonne"

Yvonne Fair

Yvonne has been a four year student here. She is very quiet, but is nice to everybody. She has done very well this year in school. Yvonne enjoys swim足 ming, horseback riding, and going to school. "Copa J. "

Jerald Franquero

Jerald is a very active person. Usually found around Clela, his other interests include basketball 1,2; traveling, and cars. Jerald's future plans are in the line of mechanics, and he would like to attend college in Phoenix.

"Nubia"

Nubia came to Mingus as a student from Honduras. You can be sure of a quick smile and ready hello from her. Her pastimes include reading, swimming, and horseback riding. Nubia wants to go to a United States college and study secretarial training or bac足 teriology. She would like to visit San Francisco, Italy, and Germany. Bea Garcia Bea has been in Pep Club 1, VOCA 3,4; Pom Pons 1,2,3; and Powder Puff 2. She has lettered 3 years. She was class secretary this year, and a homecoming candidate. Bea plans on going to Glendale Community College, and entering the secretarial field. Bea's main interests are around Jeff.

"Patty”

Patty has attended Mingus for 4 years and you can always find her where the fun is. Patty has been active in Pep Club, F.T.A. and Library Club. For her sports activities, she was in GAA and Powder Puff. She plans on attending U of A and becoming a pediatrician or a teacher. Patty's main interests are riding horses, swimming and music. Kareen Gordon

"Kareen”

Although new to Mingus, Kareen’s smile and cheerful attitude have won her many friends. Her favorite hobbies are horseback riding and swimming. Kareen has no definite plans for her future, but feels she would like to travel, perhaps to Scotland.

"Bruce"

"C" Building is Bruce's favorite outting. Bruce was senior class president, and Letterman Club presi­ dent. Sports included football 1,2, 3,4; basketball 1,2, 3,4; baseball 1,2, 3, 4. Bruce is interested in oceanography and plans on going to NAU and U of A. Say Hi to Ann for us, Bruce.

"Blondie"

Always busy, with something, Brenda will long be remembered as Seymour, and for her dancing ability. Her main interests include Kevin Hoese and parties. She participated in cheerleading and annual this year. Brenda plans on becoming an interior decorator. Dorothy Hatch

"Jean"

Dorothy has an enormous appetite but it doesn't show. Some of Dorothy's accomplishments include Pep Club 1, 2,3,4; Voca 4; National Honor Society 2,3; Pom Pon 1,2, 3,4. Dorothy plans on going to NAU. Some of her hobbies are swimming, tennis and eating.

"Dimples"

Horses and motorcycles appeal to Dimples. Many know him as a projectionist at the theater, and he plans on making this his career. He would also like to go to college in Prescott. Dimples has participated in drama, annual, and journalism during his four years at Mingus. Vance Heydorn

"Vance"

Vance, quiet, but well liked by everyone. Vance has been in Science Club and tennis. He is interested in advertising or some branch of the armed forces. Vance plans on going to either U of A or ASU. Some of his hobbies are art, tennis and science. Wayne Kevin Hoese

"KK"

Kevin is known as the "Life of the Party. " He is also known as being clumsy. Some of Kevin's ac­ complishments are Voca, Band and Drum Major. Kevin plans on going to Florida to work at Disney World after graduation. Kevin's main interest is "Blondie. " Clela Halgeson

"Clela"

Clela has been active in all four of her years at Mingus. Some of her many interests are Pep Club 1,2; VOCA 3; GAA 2; Powder Puff 1,2; and traveling, but we all know her favorite is Jerald. She is interested in the secretarial field, and wants to go to college in Phoenix.

Evelyn Hoffman

"Evie"

Evie can best be associated with her twirling at games. Although she spends much time studying, she has participated in National Honor Society, Pep Club, and Library Club. Evie has several hobbies, including art, sewing, and sports. Evie would like to visit Africa, and she plans to study medicine at ASU. Helen House

'Helen"

Although she's quiet, Helen always seems to have a good time. She is an excellent bookkeeper, and good in most of her other subjects. Helen has been a Pom Pon girl for the past three years, and was in Pep Club her Junior and Senior years. She would like to go into Nursing, and to go to NAU or Yavapai. Lynn Howell

"Rabbit"

Lynn's good sportsmanship comes through each time she is victim of Chad's teasing. She has been in AFS 3; Pep Club 3,4; Junior Class Board, Student Council 3,4; VOCA 4; GAA 2; and National Honor Society. Her pastimes include horseback riding and swimming. Lynn has also been Prom Chairman, a cheerleader, and in Model U.N. Her plans include nursing and U of A. Marvin Huffaker

"Marv"

A very active member of F.F.A. during his four years here, Marv plans on entering the field of agri­ culture. His other interests include four years of baseball, hunting, and fishing. Marv would like to visit Australia someday. His futuer plans include NAU or Yavapai. Eddie Hughes

"Stretch"

Stretch will long be remembered for saying the wrong time. Although this was his first year here, he was known by almost everybody. Stretch's future leads to either the fields of carpentry or construction. Larry Jackson

"Larry"

Larry is a very artistic and outgoing guy. He has been in Letterman’s Club four years, Track, Wrestling, and Football. He has lettered 3 years so far. After graduation, Larry plans on going into the service. One of Larry’s main interests is Tha’la Russell. Larry would like to go to Mexico some day. Rusty Kastner

"Crusty"

Everybody's friend, Rusty is always having a good time. He has been in Letterman's Club, Football, and Baseball. Rusty would like to become a social worker, and go to college in Thatcher. He also enjoys sketching. Patty Kinch

"Pat"

Pat has many interests, including music, art and poetry, but her aquaintances know her favorite is Ray. Her plans are getting married, and she would like to study data processing. She was in VOCA and Co-op this year, where she worked at Lillian's.

Debbie's outspokeness has made her well-known around school. She was in F.T.A. her sophomore year, and her other interests include horseback riding, and people. She would like to go to the Middle East. Debbie's future includes college and retailing.

Jeff Kraus

Jeff was transfered from Washington where he par­ ticipated in Cross Country 1,2 and Track 1,2. While at Mingus, Jeff participated in Track 3. He plans to attend Glendale College. He likes Bea Garcia and traveling.

"Kenny"

Kenny's four years at Mingus have been concerned primarily with basketball. Although some think he's quiet, his personality shines during study hall or lunch! He would like to see the United States. Kenny's future plans include studying accounting at Yavapai. "Mike"

Mike Lovett

Mike has been very active during his four years at Mingus. He was in football and baseball all four years. He was also in band and was band president his senior year. His interests include sports, music (drums), and Debbie. He plans to go into the field of construction. "Mouse"

Marian Makela

Marian participated in many things while at Mingus, such as: Chorus 1,2,3 (president and secre­ tary); FTA 2,3 (secretary); Pom Pons 3,4; Honor Society 3,4. She is interested in becoming a dental assistant. Marian plans to attend either the Bryman School or Blair College in Phoenix.

Rick has been here all 4 years. He has been in Key Club (president), Student Council, National Honor Society. He plans on going to U of A and wants to be a doctor. He likes the outdoors and also likes traveling. He went to ASU Medallion of Merit. Rick was also a Boy’s State Representative.

"Tex"

Dale McMenamin

Tex has been in Baseball 3, Wrestling 4, F.F. A. 1,2,3, and many other events. His interests include Yvonne, trail bikes, fishing, hunting, and camping. He is well-known and well-liked. "Sue"

Sue McMenamin

Sue has been at Mingus 4 years. Her clubs included: Voca, annual staff, Band, and class sec­ retary. She was in Powder Puff. Sue is not certain what college, but plans to go into psychology or business. Sue likes to travel to unusual towns.

"Smiley"

Kathy Miller

Smiley has been extremely active her four years at Mingus. Kathy participated in cheerleading 1,2,3, 4; drama, chorus, and Student Council Social Manager. Her plans include college.

Patricia Jo Parker

Parker has to be one of the most spirited people in school. Parker is a transfer from Glendale High School where he participated in Thespian Club and Lyre club. While at Mingus, Parker has been in Student Council, Drama, Key Club, Lettermens Club, Track 3-4, Basketball 3, and was Boy State alternate. Parker would like to Major in Music and would like to be a Minister.

"Jose"

Jose is one of our Foreign exchange students. He is from Valenzula. He's one of our more friendly type of guys. We've enjoyed his smile at Mingus this year and we will be sorry when Jose leaves us.

Chad has a habit of teasing girls. Chad is also a very good actor when he wants and has to be. Some of Chad's accomplishments are football and Track in which he has lettered two years. He plans on going to some college in Arizona and majoring in Psychology. Sports cars, water sking, ping pong, tennis and alot of good friends interest Chad.

"Patty"

Where ever there is chaos, there is Patty. Patty is famous for her unique laugh. She has been very active in her 4 years at Mingus. Patty has lettered 2 years in GAA. She was also a member of the Pep Club and VOCA. She plans to take Nurses training at Good Samaritan. She enjoys riding horses, raising animals, and a good party.

"Kathy"

This is Kathy's first year at Mingus. She is quite popular and a fine student. Kathy was in VOCA, Pep Club and at her former school she was in GAA. Kathy plans on going to N. A.U. and study in the lab. Her main interests are horses, sewing, tennis, golf, and boys.

"Lori"

For this being Lori's first year at Mingus she was quite popular and has many new friends. Lori plans to attend Bringham Young University and becoming a psychiatrist or social worker. She enjoys sewing and needle work, Lori is also good at Singing and Drama. Lori was involved in many clubs and activ­ ities at her other school, such as GAA, Horizions Unlimited, Dope Stop, and Pep Club.

If you need a friend, Anita is always there. She has been active in Band and Chorus during her four years here. Anita was Miss Merry Christmas this year. Her plans include going to N.A.U. and then teach English or Music. Her dreams are going to either England or Germany.
