"Exactly 176 years ago today -" On September 17, Mr. Crawford, with the aid of the P.A. system, explains to the entire student body the events concerning Constitution Day.

A month of contrast - September sees the green of summer give way to the brilliance of early fall. September also sees the carelessness of summer disappear as students settle down to the seriousness of studying and to the careful planning of M.U.H.S. social events . . Mingus opened her doors on Tuesday, September the third to an enrollment of over 380 students. This figure represents the largest student body Mingus has ever had - just a handful away from joining the ranks of Class A high schools.

Pat Johnson and Steve Wombacher reigned as king and queen of our homecoming royalty - Virginia Blount and Donna Osborne attended the queen, while attending the king were George Martinez and Rob Richmond.

Senior quarterback George Martinez led the Marauder assault in the homecoming game, scoring unassisted, connecting with a touchdown pass to Leonard Harris, and kicking both PAT. Speaking of football - the October air gave the ladies of Mingus a shot of adrenalin sparking the senior and freshman gals to challenge the junior, sophomore would-be gridders!

The two squads clashed on Saturday night, October 26, and battled to, a 0-0 tie. The bumps, bruises, and stiff necks, however, were not in vain - all proceeds went toward5 more "Dollars for Schofars."
