About the Clinic

Byars Family QuikCare is a health and wellness clinic exclusively for the Employees of the C.A. Jones Management Group.

As a benefit of your employment, regardless of whether you are full-time, parttime or temporary status, you can take advantage of our Nurse Practitioner services without paying your usual co-pay regardless of insurance coverage! The only services for which you will be responsible are diagnostic testing done at another location or performed by a different entity. For instance, should we suspect a broken bone we will send you to the facility of your choice for X-ray. In this case, you would be responsible for the cost incurred by the X-ray. Should the X-ray prove that you do have a fracture, we will refer you to a specialist whose services are not covered by the benefits you receive from Byars Family QuikCare. The same applies to blood work ordered during a visit that must be sent to an outside lab. In both cases your insurance will be billed directly by the facility, Laboratory, or Specialist and will be applied to your deductible.

Testing done onsite that does not have to be sent out is part of your visit, and there is no extra charge to you as an employee. Examples of these tests include Mono, Strep, Flu, Pregnancy, and simple Urinalysis. And, of course, you will be responsible for any medications that may be prescribed when you fill them at your pharmacy.

Because we see only minor illnesses and injuries and offer preventative care we expect your cost to insurance or out of pocket will be very minimal. In fact, most employees will not require additional testing nor incur any extra expenses at all when seen at Byars Family QuikCare!

While we are not currently seeing the dependents of employees, we do have plans to do so, adding an additional convenience for you and yours!

At Byars Family QuikCare we realize that a healthcare visit can be a time consuming adventure. This can be discouraging when you feel unwell, but have responsibilities to fulfill. Our mission is to provide the highest quality care with the least disruption to your busy day. Byars Family QuikCare has implemented the latest technology to ensure quality care and convenience. Our electronic medical record is among the newest and most innovative in the industry. Because it provides lightening speed real time IT support and utilizes the latest in iPad technology, it allows us to spend more face to face time with you. With this system you can view portions of your medical record, along with the most current patient education materials and communicate with us online should you have questions. With this system we can send appointment reminders to your personal computer or mobile device and answer any questions you may have. In addition, you may elect to access your medication list, diagnostic history, allergies, immunizations, and appointments ( past and upcoming) from the privacy of your own

While our clinic is not intended to replace your personal physician, we will provide wellness care in addition to incidental care for minor illnesses and injuries including, but not limited to:

Kim Byars,

APRN

Kim is a Nationally Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. A native of Graves County, she was awarded both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters in Nursing from Murray State University. Kim’s extensive nursing career spans over 30 years. She has experience in ER, Critical Care, Out-patient Services, and allergy and asthma management. For the past 13 years she has worked in our community caring for all age groups in the capacity of an Advanced Practice Nurse. She has also studied at the prestigious Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, Loyola University, Chicago, and was accepted into their Doctorate of Nursing Practice program last Spring.

Kim was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses in 1982. She is a member of The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners, Kentucky Nurses Association, and The American Nurses Association. She is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has been granted DEA privileges since 2006.

Kim is married to Bud Byars, Chief Operating Officer of the C.A. Jones Management Group, and both Kim and Bud share a strong commitment to the community. The couple resides in Murray with their Skye Terrier, Murphy, King Charles Spaniel, Charlie, and Yorkshire Terrier, Fiona. They have one son, Chris, and are the proud grandparents of one-year-old Lincoln Riley Byars. In her spare time Kim enjoys traveling, biking, oil painting and reading.

Jerri Elliott,

LPN

Jerri is a Licensed Practical Nurse with 14 years of experience. She is a graduate of West Kentucky Technical College and has worked in Long Term Care, Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Occupational Health. She has been a Certified Drug Screen Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician since 2008. In addition, she is a certified CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen instructor.

A native of Murray, Jerri is familiar with the needs of the community and is committed to providing the highest standards of nursing for her patients. She and Kim have worked together as a team for several years, enhancing the quality of the healthcare they are able to provide.

Jerri has three sons, Mason, Reede, and Hudson and is the doting grandmother of Cameryon, age 4, Addyson, age 3, and Julianna, age 2. Jerri enjoys travel and motorcycles, and is an accomplished rescue diver. She is currently working toward certification as a Divemaster.
