Recent Architectural Work
I’m James Wild, an architect and designer currently residing in Chicago. I grew up working on jobsites as the son of a contractor, eventually channeling that experience into a two-year degree in technical drawing and construction technology, followed by undergrad and graduate degrees in architecture from the University of Michigan (while working 30 hours a week as an intern architect on projects ranging from a large scale national retail roll out to historic preservation). I see my unorthodox background as a benefit to the firms I’ve worked with and the clients I’ve worked for—offering a pragmatic approach to high design that balances art, form, and function on a range of projects including adaptive reuse, workplace, building repositioning, retail, ground-up architecture, hospitality, and more.
