PASTOR’S CORNER
By now, many of you are probably tired of hearing about Jonah during the sermonic moment. However, what I am hoping that we gain from these sermons is that everyone has a purpose, a purpose must be fulfilled, God's grace helps us to live out our purpose, and our purpose must never beabused.Itisamazing,howourGodlooksatus,andseesusasuseful,lovable,andashischild.As we finish up the story of Jonah this month, contemplate on the following critical questions: What have you been called to do? Are you living out your purpose? What is getting in the way of you fulfillingwhatGodhascalledyoutodo?AmIrunningaway?HaveyoutakentimetohearfromGod? AreyoufulfillingyourplanorGod'splan?DoIhaveanyJonahtendenciesthatneedtobeaddressed?
As the month of May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, we raise our need to address mental health in the church. We recognize a need to eradicate stigmas, share support, and educate and advocateforpolicies,sothatallcancareabouttheirwell-being.AtJWC,weareconcernedaboutthe soulandthebody.Thesoulcannotfulfillitspurposeifthebodyisnottakencareof.Oneaffectsthe other. Be mindful this month to get regular check-ups and exams, make time to rest and have fun, andensureyouarefeedingyourspiritualbodyaswellasyourphysicalbodywiththerightthings.
