Duringthismonth,wepreparetocelebratetheResurrectionofJesus.AsChristians,thisis thepinnacleofourfaith.IparaphrasewhatPaulsaidtotheCorinthianChurchin1Cor. 15:13-15,thatifthereisnoResurrectionthateverythingwedoisinvainandfoolish.Christ performingthemiraculousactofbeingraisedfromthedead,isworthyofourbeliefand praise.However,let'snotbetooquicktojumptothegrave,thatweforgethowJesusgotto Resurrection.

ThereisnoResurrectionwithoutaCrucifixion.ThereisnoCrucifixionwithoutaBetrayal. ThereisnoBetrayalwithoutthelifeofJesus.ThereisnoLifeofJesus,withoutthe IncarnationorthebirthofChrist.ThereisnoIncarnationwithoutGodlovingussomuchthat hedecidedtosendhisSontous.Friendsletusgetthestoryrightthisseasonand rememberthatHeRosebecausehediedforoursins.Hediedforoursinsbecausehe preachedandtaughtrelationshipmorethanreligion.Hepreachedandtaughtbecausehe cametobearepresentationofGodonthisearth.HerepresentedGodtheFather,because Godsawaneedthatwecouldnotfulfilourselves.

Letusrememberthatyoucannotgettotheglory,withouttellingthestory.Wemustbe remindedthatthereisnoheavenlyrevelation,withoutdealingwithoursinfulsituation.Get thestoryrightthismonthinourcelebrationandadorationofthegiftofJesusChrist.

Born1823,inSchenectadyNY,totwoformerslaves, Footewascalledtoagreaterpurpose.Footehada passiontoexhortandpraywithpeople.Whencalled topreachbyGod,Footehaddifficultyaccepting.She deniedthecallingGodhadonherlifedaybyday andnightbynight.Shecouldn’teatorsleepand evenmedicinesprescribedbyphysicianswereofno use.Fornearlytwomonths,shehadheavenly visitationsfromtheLord.Onceshehadacceptedthe callingfromGod.Footedescribedthatinthe moment,shehadfeltjoyandpeacethatshehadn’t knowninmonths.Shewassoonostracizedfromher church.Herminister,JehialC.Bemansneeredather calling.Whileholdingchurchmeetingsinherhome, membersofherchurchweretoldtheywouldbe “dealtwith”hadtheyattended.Footedidnotletthis stopherfrompreachingthewordofGod.She continuedtostayinthewillofGod.Hereffortsdidn’t gounnoticed. Forshewasthefirstwomanordained asadeaconintheAMEZionChurchin1894andthe secondtobeordainedasanelderin1899.Julia remainedactiveinministryuntilherdeathin1901.
