What was the issue?

IMI needed a standardised approach across their three core service areas on the inception, sign off, management and delivery of new products. There were standard phases but no ability to have single sight and view of how these products are tracked through to market readiness, likewise to how the development of the product is relating to the original business case and targets.

What did we do? orking closely with the senior leaders and engineers within the organisation, we first W mapped out and agreed the overall lifecycle from inception to delivery of different types of products to agree one way and one holistic view that could be used for all companies. We then further utilised the experience and delivery of the collaboration platform to interweave the product delivery into a cohesive user experience.

Defining the multi-user journey through the business case and stage gate process and ultimately the dashboard reporting to enable for the first time, one place to view and understand exactly where each of the new product streams were in their delivery lifecycle.

What was the issue?

Genpact has a globally distributed workforce of consultants that needed to be able to access engaging, up to date learning and client relevant materials through an “on demand” service. Genpact also needed to provide its employees with a system that could seamlessly facilitate multiple coaching and mentoring relationships, host formal and informal learning objects and create learning journeys through associated and tagged content.

Their consultants also wanted to be able to access and leverage their organisational knowledge an “know-how” through being able to collaborate and connect with “experts” around the world.

What did we do?

Working closely with the Product Owner and strategy team, we enhanced a single cloud platform to facilitate the on demand content creation and deployment as well as formal course content and the virtual coaching solution. Designed to be as simple to use as possible, quickest access, lowest number of clicks or taps to gain insight and find what the workforce are looking for. Using our tried and tested methodology for Piloting the solution first, gaining real life confirmations of success and creating early adopters within the programme, we then used this as the benchmark to grow out to the wider community.

BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION

What was the issue?

Bombardier Transportation is a global leader in the rail industry.

It operates in 28 countries and employs some 37,000 people.

We were engaged by bombardier to help them fundamentally change their culture (the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours) relating to Health and Safety.

Although Bombardier has a significant team of dedicated Health and Safety specialists and all encompassing processes and procedures designed to keep people safe in the workplace - far too many people were being injured and unfortunately even killed at work.

We helped by: • Providing a fuller understanding of the challenge Bombardier faced.

• Allowing Bombardier to talk to all its people with the same “tone of voice”, with the same message, at the same time.

What did we do?

Working closely with a change team drawn from mainly the shop floor employee population and with the full and active support of senior leaders in the business we built and delivered a multichannel communication and reporting plan and platform to interact with over 8000 employees across Europe. We designed and delivered bespoke behavioural change programmes and created site “hit” teams to deliver the behavioural changes at a local level. Over a 5 year period Lost Time Accidents reduced by 83%, reported incidents rose by 203% and Bombardier Transportation UK won 4 RoSPA Gold awards for safety.

What was the issue?

Keybank is one of the US’s largest banks. It operates across 15 States, has over 1,200 full service branches, employs 18,00 people and serves some 3 million clients. With online and digital banking growing at an ever increasing rate, KeyBank embarked on a major programme of updating and improving their digital banking offering to all of its personal banking clients. KeyBank wanted to ensure that the changes they were making were well understood and well received by both their employees and their clients.

What did we do?

Working in partnership with both the senior leadership and the project delivery team we help shape the change strategy and communication plan both internally to 18,000 employees and externally to some 3,000,000 customers. We designed learning and communication packs that went to each KeyBank location to allow local managers to understand and then prepare their staff for the changes. We also designed and built a series of engaging digital assets in a “teaser” and then “launch” campaign that explained what was going to change and when. KeyBank has now successfully launched it new digital banking platforms with no noticeable disruption to its customer satisfaction or retention scores.

BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION

TRANSFORM ITS SITE SAFETY INDUCTIONS

What was the issue?

Bombardier Transportation has 60 main production and engineering sites across the world as well as over 500 smaller service locations. As part of Bombardier’s global drive to have a safe and healthy workplace they wished to instigate a standardised online site safety induction for anyone visiting any Bombardier site anywhere in the world.

TRANSFORM THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE F O R F R O N T L I N E S TA F F

What was the issue?

Barclays embarked on a change of strategy for its front line staff, in particular focusing on changing the behaviour of Branch Managers and Key Product Managers. Barclays needed a “new” relationship to be formed between customers and front line banking staff to add more value to Customer Interactions.

Barclays learning transformation delivery programme looked to revolutionise the learning content that is available for their global workforce of over 90,000 employees. They needed a ‘what does good look like’ framework that could be adopted and replicated across the various topics that they intended to refresh and deliver. This needed to be delivered to stringent accessibility standards and across a wide range of devices and operating systems.

What did we do?

Working with the Senior Programme Owners, we defined an overall change strategy to fully engage with the workforce to completely understand the expected deliverable.

Working on two specific large learning topics, we designed a comprehensive, fresh, modern and interactive suite of content. This was benchmarked as the type and style for the programme delivery. It was thoroughly tested by the technical teams to ensure that the accessibility standards were fully met and that the various network and localised hardware and software compatibility was complied with.

What was the issue?

IMI is a multinational engineering organisation with operations in more than 20 countries and employing more than 11,000 people. IMI had no standardised format for inducting new employees into the organisation.

IMI wanted to be able to introduce their strategy, key markets and products, major industrial applications and global footprint to new joiners in a consistent and engaging manner. IMI also wanted to convey their values and core behavioural expectations to new employees.

What did we do?

Working closely with key stakeholders from both IMI Group and its Divisions we helped design the content and flow of 3 digital inductions that show the core elements of IMI’s strategy and how this translates into customer solutions as well as demonstrating their core product and engineering application offerings. We created engaging, interactive digital learning content that blends film and animation content with motion graphics and text. The IMI Inductions are available in 8 languages to ensure that wherever you are in the world you are you receive the same induction experience.

What was the issue?

Costain Group plc is a technology based construction and engineering company with some 4,000 employees on the UK. Costain take the safety and health of it s employees very seriously and historically has delivered learning and training on Health & Safety related topics on a purely face to face basis either in a coaching and mentoring scenario or a class room based facilitator led manner. Costains were looking for a mechanism to increase the use of technology in the learning journeys of its employees and increase the effectiveness of its training offering.

What was the issue?

Tribal Group Plc operates in the Education Software sector and has grown by aggressively acquiring a significant number of smaller businesses over time. They urgently needed to synergise and transform their technology strategy in order to reduce costs, integrate their teams into a cohesive structure and provide technology efficiencies across their many products and services.

What did we do? orking closely with the senior leadership team, a transformational change project W commenced to rapidly define the core problem areas and map out a strategy for change. This was across the board from an overhaul of the people and organisational structures to the method and mode of internal and external service delivery and product design and delivery. A detailed understanding of the complex technology landscape was required in order to radically address the current state and inform a new strategy to ultimately provide limited risk and exposure through the change period, ensuring business continuity and the ultimate transference to a more modern, cost effective and streamlined solution. Tactical solutions were also agreed and executed including as an example, the full roll-out of Office 365 which was managed to successful conclusion.

OLIVIA OCAĂ‘A Olivia has worked with organisations all over the world and in varying sectors, helping to shape and deliver technology solutions that match the goals of the company she is working with. Her belief is that technology is now at the heart of most change programmes and there are often smart and accessible options in translating what ec3 clients need into a solution that brings true benefit.

Background Coming from a background in corporate technology solutions delivery in the Energy, Engineering, Retail, Manufacturing and Banking industries, she has translated that into a consultancy style that enables her to work with key stakeholders and also dive into the detail and engage with all levels across the business. As a very experienced Product Designer and Programme Director, she is able to adapt and flex styles of delivery to suit the outcomes of each project.

Experience Having worked in technology for over 20 years, Olivia has run multi-million pound complex technology implementation programmes, worked with digital startups, delivered multiple system designs and applications from conception to implementation. As co-founder of ec3, she has worked closely with all of our clients on their specific needs and translated those into customised solutions, leveraging what already exists and supplementing with strategically fitting technology offerings.

SCOTT FAZIO Scott leverages his 15+ years of executive experience to seamlessly integrate with leadership teams and provide pointed, business-relevant feedback and coaching.

Scott’s keen sense of individual needs and organisational dynamics also enables him to drive significant change and development programs through team facilitation, stakeholder engagement and immersion in the business needs.

Background Prior to ec3, Scott served as a human resources executive for several global organisations. Throughout his career, he also held roles in legal and operations excellence. As a human resources executive, Scott was a highly sought after advisor and confidant at all levels of the organisations from the C-suite to emerging leaders.

Based on his unique background and experience, his responsibilities spanned often beyond the scope of human resources to include strategic projects and functions including: legal, operations excellence, acquisition diligence & integration, quality, and environment, health & safety.

Experience Scott focuses his work on complex organisation change programs that require group-wide and individual change. He leverages his human resources, legal, and process management experience to engage clients on a wide variety of change programs and has worked internationally with clients in the US, UK, Europe, Mexico, Singapore and China.

Most recently, Scott has been working with a series of global industrial organisations to help them better collaborate and develop the leadership competencies required to compete in a highly competitive environment.

His work has spanned a wide range of industries including: engineering, industrial, professional services, and health care.

JAMES RALPH James is an experienced consultant and project director with 20 years experience of working with global clients - helping them deliver innovative organisational change and learning projects via both traditional consulting and learning methodologies and digital solutions.

Background James started his career with one of the large consulting firms as a member of their Human Capital Practice. He joined a smaller, boutique consultancy in the mid 90’s – where he was responsible for 3 of their top 6 clients. He was involved in projects all around the world from the US, to China and the Far East to Africa.

He left in 2004 to co-found a Digital Learning and Change Management company which has delivered successful projects to some of the worlds largest organisations.

Experience In the last decade James has focused his work on large organisation change projects that have often been supported by technology and digital learning - much of it on an international and global level. In the last two years James has worked on projects in China, Africa, Singapore, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the US, Europe and the UK. In particular James has recently worked on 2 projects with FTSE 100 or equivalent companies that have been blending established change management methodologies with collaboration technologies and innovative digital learning solutions.

James combines experience and expertise in Change Management with a background in Learning and Development.

His projects have covered a wide range of industries, from Engineering and Manufacturing, through Technology to Financial Services.
