Duchy Finals Day SAT 22ND APRIL
AT FALMOUTH RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
On behalf of our hosts Falmouth Rugby Football Club, we would like to welcome you to what will be a thrilling end to the season with our Duchy Cup Finals.
We trust you enjoy todays games and please remember to respect the teams, each other, the match officials, marshals and staff.
Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship
Many congratulations to the Clubs on reaching the Finals and I trust each Club and their players enjoy the experience that marks the end of a long season.
It is an occasion when the Rugby Family of Cornwall come together to say farewell to one another for the season.
We must thank all those Clubs that have entered the various Competitions as they are supporting Rugby in Cornwall.
We thank “Tribute” for their continued financial support. Without this finance the CRFU would find it very difficult to provide these meaningful Competitions.
To the spectators who come out to support and renew and forge friendships. You are valued members of the Cornwall Rugby Family.
Finally a special thanks to the Cornwall Rugby Referees Society, not only for officiating here today but for the tireless commitment throughout the year.

Mutual respect forms the basis of our sport. We hold in high esteem our sport, its values and traditions and earn the respect of others in the way we behave. We respect our match officials and accept their decisions. We respect opposition players and supporters. We value our coaches and those who run our clubs and treat clubhouses with consideration.
We feel exceptionally privileged to have been chosen by the CRFU to host this Duchy Finals Day. This will be the fourth time Falmouth Rugby Football Club have held a final at the Rec.
Falmouth Rugby Football Club was founded in 1873, and this year has marked our 150th anniversary of continuous rugby in our community and surrounding areas. A milestone we are very proud to have reached.
Here at Falmouth, we run two men's senior teams, 'The Eagles' and 'The One & All ', a women's team 'The Whitetails', as well as a one hundred and fifty strong 'Youth Academy', for boys and girls aged 6 to 16. We also run an inclusive and mixed touch rugby team called 'The Raptors.'
We are always looking for people to join the Falmouth Rugby Family, be it as a player, a sponsor, a volunteer or as a social member.
If you're interested, please talk with anyone associated with Falmouth RFC here today or visit our website; falmouthrugbyclub.co.uk
We really hope you enjoy our hospitality and partake in a great day of rugby, played with spirit and friendship.
Paul Radmore President Falmouth Rugby Football ClubFor any assistance, please talk with a member of staff in the Clubhouse who will point you to a marshal who can help
Welcome everyone to Falmouth Rugby Football Club for the Cornwall RFU Duchy Finals day here. We aredelighted to host this event and as you can see there is a plethora of rugby as we host 5 games grom 9 different clubs, Alton, Bude, Falmouth, Redruth, Saltash, St. Austell, St. Ives, Veor and Wadebridge.
Congratulations to all those who have reached todays finals, and we hope that you do yourselves justice and enjoy the day.
For Falmouth there has been an unexpected but incredibly welcome late season bounce, following the draw against the Old Dunstonians and Cup wins against Blandford and Swindon College Old Boys, the club played a 150th Anniversary celebration match on Wednesday against a strong Cornwall Presidents XV and recorded a 24-15 win and a great performance, so there is some confidence heading into todays game.
Our visitors Alton RFC defeated Bude 29-10 at home last week and are making the journey from Hampshire today by train, so we hope there are no leaves on the line to delay their attendance.
CORNWALL U20’s
With tomorrow’s Cornwall Under 20s match involving several Falmouth players, todays team has a few changes from last week, Alex Kindjarsky makes a welcome but rare appearance and Alfie Hammersley comes in at Fullback, however with Jon Baglow returning and Tom Spiller leading the side there is some reassuring familiarity in the team as well.
Good luck to One and All.
