Seenya • A cashier at a local business laughing, while she held up the line, while texting on her phone. • A Paw Paw and his Grand daughter riding a motorcycle around their pool, then accidentally sliding it into the pool. The biggest scream and concern from Nanny? OMG--Did it tear the lining? • Beautiful flowers at South Harriman Baptist Church! • Arbys mobile sandwich service coming to Lowes parking lot for the next few weeks to help decide if Roane County is a good fit for a restaurant.
Fort Southwest Point was constructed in 1797. It was located in Kingston, overlooking the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers. At its peak there were 625 soldiers stationed there. It became the headquarters for federal troops in Tennessee under the command of Colonel David Henley, as agent of war. The U. S. government’s shift to a protectionist role with the Cherokee was seen in how the troops carried their role as peace keepers. Their escort service across Cherokee territory became less to protect the travelers from attack by the Cherokee and more to ensure the travelers did not illegally settle on Cherokee owned lands. Also, the troops began to further protect Cherokee rights by forcibly removing white settlers who had illegally settled on Cherokee lands. Several treaties with the Cherokee were negotiated and signed at the fort. The Treaty of Tellico was also negotiated there. Roane County’s first post office was located at Fort Southwest Point. The first Indian school was also located at the fort site to teach the Indian children how to speak English. Fort Southwest Point is the only fort in Tennessee being reconstructed on its original foundation. The completed sections of the fort include a barracks, a blockhouse and 250 feet of palisade walls. The fort is owned and maintained by the City of Kingston. Open Tues. - Sat. 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Closed Sun. and Mon. From Interstate 40 take Exit 352. Travel 1.9 miles on Highway 58 South. The Fort is on the hill on the right overlooking the junction of the Tennessee, Clinch, and Emory Rivers.

The Emory Gap Cemetery Growing up in Emory Gap, Mama made all of kids go to church every Sunday. She and Daddy didn’t go with us, but she demanded we went ourselves. She didn’t care which church we went to, or if we only went just for Sunday School, as long as we went somewhere. We would either go to Valley Chapel Methodist or Emory Gap Baptist. A small child doesn’t know the difference in denominations, so we just went to both. One Sunday, me and my sister Sandra went to the Baptist church. It’s located behind Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken. At that time, there was nothing in the area except houses. A few houses behind the church was an old cemetery. Old folks said it was a cemetery for blacks, but there were white people buried there, also. We went to Sunday School, then left, not staying for church. We walked down the road and up to the old graveyard. Old tombstones or carved rocks were plentiful. I don’t remember the oldest markers, but seems like they were in the early 1800s. The cemetery was not well kept and there were weeds and thorns growing everywhere. It was sad to see all the forgotten graves left to grow up into trees. I read in the 60s, when the interstate came to downtown Emory Gap, that someone went in and graded a lot of the cemetery lots to put a store in on the highway. The developer denied it, but ancestors of the dead said there were several graves missing. Since the cemetery was so abandoned, I guess there was no way of proving where the grave sites had been. There are historical groups working on projects of identifying grave sites and cemeteries in the county. Maybe they can solve the mystery of the missing graves.

Memories of a Mountain Boy - Not very much thought about by anyone but remembered by many at times - the late 1930's and early 1940's. I was born in 1930 during the depression days in the average mountain family the middle one of seven children. Always proud of a hard working dad and mother who taught to love and fear God, work and save for a rainy day. I cherished the memories of youth and the acquaintances of old people. A family blessed with love, health and vitality. Days when the horse, mule and ox were going out and cars, trucks and machinery were moving in. Some very vivid memories of the stories and tales of the family and old folk which my children and young people of today know very little of such as snow on the covers in early morn, dragging wood after school after walking two miles one way to school, and the homemade cakes and cookies for Christmas. The Saturday wash day, with wash pots and tubs with rub boards and carrying of wood and water, and the days before diapers when mom sent for a hip pin to change young sis, and hogs to slop, chickens to feed and gather eggs, cows to milk, kindling to get before supper. So, lessons to learn by kerosene lamp after supper. Wet days or bad weather was to shuck corn then shell for mill days. First the water mills then the gasoline. Spring days were the busy days for getting ready for an early garden, stables to clean, hens nest to make, and a thousand and one other things to do. To close each day's activities in summer and on holidays in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World at Lake Buena Vista, Fla., a huge fireworks display lights up the sky. One night I noticed a small boy about three years old perched on his father's shoulder. The child sat mesmerized, aware only of what was exploding in the heavens. When the fireworks were over, the little boy looked up into the sky again and said, "Thank you, God."

The Church Feud Church feuds are not uncommon. But when the pastor and choir director get into it, stand aside. One week our pastor decided to press his position by preaching on commitment, and how we should dedicate ourselves to service. That Sunday, the choir director led the choir in singing, 'I Shall Not Be Moved.' The next Sunday, the pastor preached on giving and how we should gladly give to the work of the Lord. The choir director then led the song, 'Jesus Paid It All.' The next Sunday, the pastor preached on gossiping and how we should watch our tongues. The hymn was 'I Love To Tell The Story.' The pastor became disgusted over the situation, and the next Sunday he told the congregation he was considering resigning. The choir then sang 'Oh, Why Not Tonight.' After the pastor resigned the next week, he preached his last sermon at the church telling the congregation that Jesus had led him there and Jesus was taking him away. The choir then sang, 'What A Friend We Have in Jesus.'

The Boulder
Always remember that every obstacle can be an opportunity. In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then, a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
Here Comes the Bride All eyes were on the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle. Put a few grains of rice in with the salt, which will absorb any moisture. Eliminate the fat from soup and stew. Drop a few ice cubes into the pot and stir. The fat will cling to the cubes. Just throw away the ice cubes before they melt!

Big Orange Meatballs 2 pounds ground beef 2eggs 3/4 cup instant oatmeal 3 tablespoons dried minced onion 3/4 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup ketchup 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 (12 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
Prevent muffin tops from burning. When filling the muffin pan with In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, eggs, oatmeal, onion, Cheddar cheese, ketchup, salt, batter, leave one cup empty. Put cold water in that cup right before and pepper using your hands. Form into tiny meatballs about 1 inch wide. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees). Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs, and cook, you put the pan in the oven. Keep the grease from splattering. Sprinkle a little salt in your frying turning frequently, until browned, about 10 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the meatballs to a baking dish. Cover with barbecue sauce. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheat oven, until sauce is thick pan before cooking. and meatballs are cooked through. Serve hot. Prevent foods like oatmeal, potatoes or pasta from boiling over. Take Tennessee Chicken Wings a stick of margarine and grease the inside of the pot about one inch down from the top. Place a slice of apple in hardened brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper 1/2 cup chopped onion to soften it back up. 2 teaspoons seasoned salt 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce 4 cloves garlic, minced Sweeten corn. When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar 1/3 cup molasses 2 cups prepared blue cheese dressing to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness. Sucanet. Is a natural sugar which is good for your body. Determine whether an egg is fresh. Immerse it in a pan of cool salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh. If one end tips up, it is less fresh. If it rises to the surface, throw it away. Prevent mold from forming on cheese. Store with a few sugar cubes in a tightly covered container. Stop ice-cream leaks. Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice drips.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sprinkle chicken wings on all sides with cayenne pepper and seasoned salt, and spread in a single layer into a large baking dish. Bake the wings in the preheated oven until the skin is browned and crisp, 30 to 40 minutes, turning the wings over halfway through cooking for even browning. While the wings are baking, combine hot sauce, molasses, and liquid smoke flavoring in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir in the onion, green pepper, and garlic, and bring the mixture to a boil. Stir in the blue cheese dressing. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Transfer the wings from the baking dish to paper towels to drain excess grease. Pour off any excess fat from the dish, and return the wings to the dish. Pour the sauce evenly over the wings, turning them over with a spatula or tongs to coat all sides with sauce. Return to the oven and bake until the sauce has thickened and cooked onto the wings, about 20 minutes. Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Kotlikoff: Investors at Risk of Wipe out… SIPC is a Fraud… Economist warns all Americans to close brokerage accounts immediately!
In the event of a Ponzi scheme, the SIPC will claw back money from anyone who has withdrawn it in the last two years, Kotlikoff says. Economist Laurence Kotlikoff is calling on all Americans to close their brokerage accounts immediately because of the risk of a total wipe out — a risk he says stems from a massive Wall Street insurance scam perpetrated by the Securities Investor Protection Corp. (SIPC). Bob Tonachio “SIPC, a brokerage ‘insurance’ arm of Wall Street, has been and remains today engaged in insurance fraud,” Kotlikoff told ThinkAdvisor in a telephone interview. “SIPC claims to insure brokerage accounts. Nothing could be farther from the truth. What it's really doing is placing all brokerage account holders at extreme risk.” The Boston University professor, who has long been outspoken on a wide range of public policy questions, was careful to add that investors in mutual funds are likely to be safe if their fund companies place assets in the care of third-party custodians who are responsible for the safety of customer funds and do nothing but custody assets. But the arrangement is very different in the case of brokerage accounts, nearly all of which notify their customers — fraudulently in Kotlikoff’s view — that accounts are insured up to $500,000. The economist offers as his Exhibit A of the fraudulent nature of this insurance the fact that Wall Street firms, including such giants as Goldman Sachs with nearly a trillion dollars in assets, were, until the Madoff scandal, paying premiums totaling a mere $150 a year to SIPC. (Today SIPC members pay .0025 of net revenue from eligible products.) “How can there be any insurance protection for brokerage accounts if they don’t have any money [to pay claims]?” Kotlikoff asks. Congress created SIPC in 1970 legislation to protect investors in the event of a brokerage failure and thereby increase their confidence, but the Wall Street firms who make up its membership prefer to hold onto their cash rather than reserve funds sufficient to pay large claims to investors. But the real crime, says Kotlikoff, is a process by which Wall Street firms criminalize innocent brokerage account holders by essentially making them pay for any criminal misconduct — not once, but twice. “If your broker, or the broker at the next desk, engages in fraud that shuts down the firm,” Kotlikoff explains, you’ve not only lost your hard-earned assets, but SIPC will put its army of paid-by-the-hour lawyers to recover other customer losses from you. By declaring the fraud a Ponzi scheme, the organization can claw back any funds from account holders who withdrew money from their accounts in the past two years (or six, under some circumstances), under the theory that the account holders knew something was amiss and reacted by withdrawing their wealth. "Of course," said the grandmother. "Why just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles." DICHOTOMY OF AGE
By: Timothy Joseph There exists a double standard when it comes to aging. Everything is hunky-dory from the time we are born, all through adolescence, school, college, and career. Then, all of a sudden, a duplicity rears its ugly head and we’re seen as “old”. Along with that vision (from the younger set—and yes, some of the “older” set) we have suddenly lost all the attributes of youth. I appreciate very much that “seniors” get very minor financial breaks by businesses, we should, we’re not making those big bucks anymore, and fixed incomes can’t match full time salaries. And I’m glad there is an AARP, and Medicare. I fully accept I can’t work my butt off physically as I use to, re-shingle my roof, or split a cord of wood in one afternoon, but I draw the line right there—physical endurance—that’s it. It upsets me that our society suddenly shoves us into various pockets of diminished intellect, value, emotion, and ability. My vast experience gave me what no ‘right out of college’ professional could possibly have—far more knowledge. Was that 25 year-old a manager on a 2.02 Billion Dollar project; has he testified on the stand regarding numerous environmental concerns; has he written hundreds of documents and professional journal articles; or taught students how to think? I have. No, it doesn’t make me a better person or special at all, but it does make me ‘smarter.’ I’m one heck of a lot keener now than when I graduated with my gung-ho Ph.D. Just because my muscles today can’t match my twenty or thirty year old muscles, don’t go projecting that inability anywhere else—yet society does—big time. Case in point-1: How often will a company hire a seasoned professional over 65 instead of a 25 year old suave looking guy in a slim three-piece suit with nowhere near the experience? Need I answer that? I can out-write, out-think, out-produce, and out-manage any 25 year old, but companies will nearly always place their bet on the younger guy. I’m not “knocking” the younger set at all, I was once there, wanted that job, and glad I got it, but I sure as heck wasn’t smarter than the older guy competing with me. Case in point-2: TV is full of romance, passion, sex, and love. We see unclad gorgeous male and female bodies in all positions of passion fill the evening shows. Great looking young high school kids, and thirty and forty year old models are continually entwined, moaning, kissing and cuddling—their lovely naked butt’s right there in front of us. They are deeply emotional, passionate, loving, sensitive, and may even cry because they love someone so much. That’s great—and beautiful. But how many times have you seen an “Older” couple with the same love story, profoundly emotional, kissing, entwined, tears? I can’t think of any. The “Less than Senior” population (in the majority), have two very skewed misconceptions about us. One, they assume we somehow left all our emotions behind when it comes to passion, love, and affection (or don’t want to imagine it); and two, they believe we can no longer feel love or as much depth of emotion as ‘they’ do, because after so long, surely you must lose it. So, without realizing, the “Senior” minority is unfairly pushed into the closet, while the good looking, virile, younger set are assumed to be the exclusive owners of passion. Okay all you “younger set” who may be reading this (if you haven’t stopped by now), quit shaking your heads at me—I know you are. I’m not at all upset. I envy you, and I wish I were your age. Celebrate your passion, just know I too own it, and I too celebrate it. Don’t shudder thinking that when I kiss my beautiful wife, I get turned on, even with wrinkles on my brow. You don’t get offended seeing those beautiful young bodies gyrating in the movies—so just understand that a few wrinkles aren’t barriers to passion, but in fact are but lines of script written upon our faces declaring a beautiful life filled with love and passion. Erase that dumb “age” duplicity because it doesn’t exist—won’t you please? Society needs to stop and understand that to pigeonhole based on how many times a person has traveled around the sun, makes no sense whatsoever. If you believe for a second an eighteen or twenty year old has more passion or love than a seventy year old, well, simply put, you’re wrong. Hey, I was once an eighteen year old, a twenty year old, a thirty year old, and a forty year old. When I fell in love with a girl in high school (she knows who she is), it was intense and real, and made tears flow from my eyes. And when I fell in love with my wife, it was intense and real, and made tears flow from my eyes. And the love I have today for my wife, is intense and real, and makes tears flow from my eyes. And when I think of that beautiful girl in high school I fell in love with, it is still intense and real and brings tears to my eyes. You get the point? Look, please, don’t think for a moment that the younger set have anything over the senior set, except maybe the ability to get hired or split a cord of wood. My ability to think, comprehend, create, and produce, as well as my depth of emotion, passion, love, and empathy, have only “Increased” with time and experience—NOT diminished. Society, look at the facts (other than the number of years alive), and see every “Individual” for all they are, age aside. Sure, there will come a time when everyone will eventually lose their mental faculties, and that’s when you can call me ‘old’ and be correct that I’m diminished. And we all will get there—including you, no one is immune. But until then, though we have wrinkles and our hair line is retreating, know that we have just as much depth, intellect, creativity, vitality, ability, passion, emotion, and love as you do—NO!—in all honesty, we lead you in all those areas, but hey, it won’t be long until you catch up to us. 9-11...We Should Never Forget
1. The number of children who lost a parent in the events of 9/11 was 3,051. Seventeen babies were subsequently born to women whose husbands died during the attacks. Nine months after 9/11, the number of births in New York City rose by 20 percent compared to the same month in 2000. 2. The total value of art lost when the Twin Towers collapsed exceeded $100 million. Items included Alexander Calder’s sculpture WTC Stabile, Joan Miró’s epic World Trade Center Tapestry, a painting from Roy Lichtenstein’s Entablature series, and others by Picasso and David Hockney. 3. One of the unsung heroes of 9/11 was a guide dog, Roselle, a yellow Labrador who led her blind owner, Michael Hingson, down 78 stories of the North Tower and to the home of a friend. 4. Only 291 dead bodies were recovered “intact” from Ground Zero. The parents of Lisa Anne Frost, 22, who was a passenger on United Flight 175, which hit the South Tower, had to wait almost a year before anything belonging to their daughter was found by workers sifting through debris. 5. In total, workers sifted through more than one million tons of debris looking for remains and personal effects. They found 65,000 items, including 437 watches and 144 wedding rings. 6. The section of the Pentagon hit by Flight 77 had just undergone a $258 million rearmament, in which walls had been strengthened and reinforced windows had been installed. Many right next to the plane’s point of impact remained intact. 7. When the 9/11 ringleader, Mohamed Atta, checked in at Logan airport, in Boston, his name triggered an alert on the airport’s security system and his bags were never put in the plane’s hold. 8. Hundreds of memorials, dedications, flagpoles, crucifixes and artworks have been made using steel from Ground Zero. These include a cross in Shanksville, Philadelphia, where United Flight 93 crashed, made out of steel from the North Tower, and a Memory and Light monument in Padua, Italy. 9. Property developer Larry Silverstein bought the 99-year lease on the World Trade Center for $3.2 billion just six months before they were destroyed. He is now rebuilding a commercial office and shopping complex, alongside a memorial and museum, on the site. 10. Earlier this year, the official death count for 9/11 was raised by one to 2,753. New York’s Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Jerry Borg, an accountant and part-time actor, had died in late 2010 from a lung disease caused by inhaling dust close to the World Trade Center. 11. Five of the 9/11 hijackers stayed in a motel right outside the gates of the American spy organization, the National Security Agency, in the days immediately before the attacks. 12. Black boxes stored in the tail of Flight 77 were reported as having been discovered in the Pentagon on September 12 2001. Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld later said that data from the cockpit voice recorder was unrecoverable. This is thought to be the first time in 40 years that a cockpit voice tape, once found, has yielded no data.

A Wild Party
A Dog and a Boy
A man goes to a party and has too much to drink. His friends plead with him to let them take him home. He says no - he only lives a mile away. About five blocks from the party the police pull him over for weaving all over the road, ask him to get out of the car and take the breathalyzer test. Just as he is about to blow into the bag, the police radio informs the policemen of a robbery taking place in a house a short distance away. The police tell the partygoer to remain where he is, they will be right back; and they run down the street to the robbery. The guy waits and waits and finally decides to drive home. When he gets there, he tells his wife he is going to bed, and to tell anyone who might come looking for him that he has 'flu and has been in bed all day. A few hours later the police knock on the door. They ask if Mr. X lives there and his wife says yes. They ask to see him and she replies that he is in bed with 'flu and has been there all day. However, the police have his driver's license. They ask to see his car, and she asks why. They insist on seeing his car, so she takes them to the garage and opens the door where they find the police car, lights still flashing.
A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups, and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.... "Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies." "Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat of the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money." The boy dropped his head for a moment, then reaching deep into his pocket he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?" "Sure," said the farmer and with that he let out a whistle, "Here Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.... "I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would." With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands." With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy. "How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."

MADDEN 2nd Straight Win The 10th Annual Iron Man Classic presented By Stanley Best Heat & Air was run on Saturday evening, August 16th, at Smoky Mountain Speedway. After time trials had been run, it was Chris Madden of Gray Court, South Carolina, setting fast time for the 40 lap feature. In the race, Madden, from the pole, took the lead at the start and opened up a sizable lead en route to the $15,000 victory. Randy Weaver came on strong at the last, but the Crossville driver could not catch Madden and Weaver had to settle for 2nd. With Skip Arp 3rd, Ray Cook 4th, Tony Knowles 5th, Tommy Kerr 6th, and Vic Hill 7th. In the Limited Late Model Feature, it was Cory Hedgecock taking the checkers with Drew Kennedy of Sunbright 2nd, Trevor Size 3rd, Billy Ogle 4th and Matt Henderson 5th. In the Stock Feature, it was Jeff McLemore taking the checkers for another win with Brady Lee 2nd, Wesley 3rd and Robbie Buchanan 4th. The next racing action is scheduled for Saturday evening September 20th, with the Southern All Stars coming to town. It will pay $15,000 to win. Also, it will be The Hall of Fame race, as the 2014 inductees will be introduced. This class will consist of Scott Sexton, who became a force anywhere he ran at. Sexton passed away in 2013. Billy Palmer of Hardin Valley had success at Atomic Speedway and Smoky Mountain in Late Models, and also the Open Wheel Modifieds. Dewey Floyd had success in the Modified Street Division. Jim Hunter was nominated in a new category, The Asphalt Division. Hunter won the pole For a NASCAR Grand National race in 1967, and posted two top 5 finishes at Smokey Mountains. Hunter passed away in 2010. Bobby Denton, who announced and was the voice of the Vols, was also an Announcer at Smoky Mountain in the 70’s. Denton passed away earlier this year.

While the only accurate way to find out your baby's gender during pregnancy is from your doctor, playing the guessing game can be a lot of fun. Read on for some of the wackiest old wives' tales believed to predict the gender of your baby, and try some for yourself. And then tell us--were they right? How Low Can You Go? Rumor has it that if you are carrying your baby high, it's a girl. Carrying low? Stock up on blue. Similar tales say if you carry in front, you've got yourself a little boy, and if you expand horizontally, it's a girl. Body Clues Legends say that if you are having a little girl, she'll steal your beauty. So, if you've got acne and other not-so-pretty skin blemishes, you've got a little princess coming your way. Dry hands and cold feet are signs of a boy. So, if you've got these ailments, break out the baby blue. It's All in the Ring Swing Here's a fun one— take off your wedding ring, tie it to a piece of string, and hang it over your belly. If it swings in a circle, you are promised a boy; back and forth indicates a girl. The Old Drano Experiment This one is as old as it is weird. The mom-to-be is required to pee in a cup, and mix in a tablespoon of Drano. If the liquid turns green, you're having a girl. Blue? You guessed it. It's a boy. We don't recommend trying this one. Mixing these two can result in dangerous fumes or, scary enough, an explosion. A safer version of this experiment uses baking soda. If the mixture fizzles, it's a boy. If it doesn't, you've got yourself a girl!

I'm not perfect. I have all kinds of problems. I have no ability. I have no gifts. I'm just not worthy. Why would God want me? Well, did you know that... Moses stuttered. David's armor didn't fit. John Mark deserted Paul. Timothy had ulcers. Hosea's wife was a prostitute. Amos' only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning. Jacob was a liar. David had an affair. Solomon was too rich. Jesus was too poor. Abraham was too old. David was too young. Peter was afraid of death. Lazarus was dead. John was self-righteous. Naomi was a widow. Paul was a persecutor of the church. Moses was a murderer. Jonah ran from God's will. Miriam was a gossip. Gideon and Thomas both doubted. Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal. Elijah was burned out. John the Baptist was a loudmouth. Martha was a worry-wart. Noah got drunk. Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse? So did Peter, Paul - well, lots of folks did.
A motorist, after being bogged down in a muddy road, paid a passing farmer five dollars to pull him out with his tractor. After he was back on dry ground he said to the farmer, "At those prices, I should think you would be pulling people out of Yes, I believe, I talked to him today! YES, GOD IS REAL AND JESUS IS ALIVE, for HES TALKED TO ME, held me in his arms, answered my prayers, and has healing in HIS WINGS .. It has been 2 yrs and I’m still here, beating all the odds the doctors gave me, as they conversed Happy Birthday But God doesn't require a job interview for salvation.
