Insomnia and Sleeping Pills

We all know how important sleep is for our health. Lack of sleep not only affects our body internally, but externally as well. No matter how much you sleep during the daytime, it can never make up for the night’s sleep. This is why people who have night-time jobs for a long time have poor health and are always tired and lethargic. Our body is designed in a way that it needs sleep at night to naturally recover from certain problems and stay healthy. But, sometimes this natural cycle gets disturbed and leads to sleep-related problems. Insomnia is one of them. A large number of people all over the world suffer from insomnia, or lack of sleep, due to a variety of reasons. A search for a solution to treat sleep-related problems leads to the emergence of sleeping pills and now, due to their effectiveness, insomnia and sleeping pills have become interrelated. This is why a large number of people buy sleeping pills to overcome sleeplessness. What Is Insomnia? Simply put, insomnia is a type of sleep disorder which makes it difficult to fall and/ or stay asleep. It can be categorized into two types i.e. Primary and Secondary.  

Primary Insomnia – the lack of sleep that is not a result of any other health problem Secondary Insomnia – this type of insomnia is a result of some other health issue or a side-effect of some medication(s) or food(s).

Insomnia can also be divided into two types according to its frequency and duration.
