Later, Qianhai Was Vigorously Developed And A Huge Land Reclamation Project Was Carried Out. Excessive Land Reclamation Has Exposed Shenzhen To The Risks Of Soil Erosion, Ecological Damage And Seawater Intrusion.

The Project Aimed To Design A System To Assist Coastal Cities In Coping With The Climate Change Crisis. In The Face Of Possible Future Typhoons And Sea Level Rise Crises, The Introduction Of Protective Landscapes Will Activate The City's Waterfront Rather Than Severing The City's Connection To The Water. The Transformation Of An Otherwise Flat And Uninteresting Public Space Into A Flood-Protected Landscape That Integrates Rainwater Management, Recreation, Social Services And Science Education Will Create An Active Shoreline That Meanders Through Dozens Of Kilometres Of Shenzhen Bay.

The Neighbourhood Has Retained Traces Of Its 2,500-Year History With Few Significant Changes. Over The Past 20 Years, Pingjiang Road Has Undergone Commercial Development, Attracting Large Numbers Of Tourists While Losing Much Of Its Traditional Culture And Disturbing And Encroaching On The Living Quarters Of The Original Inhabitants.

My Project Aims To Create A Pleasant, Historically And Culturally Rich Environment For Tourists And Local Residents To Visit And Live In By Preserving And Promoting The Ancient Cultural Heritage Of The Suzhou Region. My Cultural Renovation Project Will Combine Innovative Visitor Experiences, Historical And Cultural Heritage And Modern Conveniences To Revitalise The Area And Breathe New Life Into The Cultural Life Of The Neighbourhood.

CHINESE GARDENING TECHNIQUES RESEARCH In Suzhou Gardens, There Is A Sense Of Rhythm In The Space Through The "Qi Cheng Zhuan He" Technique, Which Is Created By The Changes Of Opening And Closing, Sparseness And Density.

The Garden Of Liou Is Also Full Of Subtle Traditional Chinese Gardening Techniques, Such As Framing, Interlacing, Leaking And Barricading, Which I Have Studied And Put To Use.

A Unified Design Of Points (Entrances), Lines (Spaces Along The River) And Surfaces (Opera Parks And Community Parks) In The Historic District, Allowing A Clear Sequence Of Spatial Experiences For People With Different Identities, Which Is A Simulated Living Scenario

Resident Mr. Zhang:Good morning, lad! Are you from out of town to play on Pingjiang Road?

Visitor Lee:Yes, I've heard that this is the oldest and most culturally rich historical district in Suzhou

Retired Kunqu Performer Chen::Yes, it gives our young kunqu performers a great stage to present our performances to the public.

Visitor Lee:Wow! I saw two roadside stages right here with artists performing musical instruments and operas it's very Suzhou cultural

Resident Mr. Zhang:In addition to this, it also provides our old neighbourhood with a great place to have a cup of tea and a chat.

Retired Kunqu Performer Chen:I'm Master Zhang who lives here,I can show you around if you have time

CHENG:PAVILION ALONG THE RIVER

ZHUAN:OPERA POCKET PARK

Retired Kunqu Performer Chen:Look, Li, along the river, these river ports have been transformed and given back their ancient function

Retired Kunqu Performer Chen:That's right, you can also experience making it yourself and can diy a style of your choice

Visitor Lee:This is the making of a sous-vide fan, never seen one made in person before, it's exquisite!

Visitor Lee:I see teahouses, piers, marketplaces, handicraft workshopand laundries, a scene that looks like Suzhou as depicted in an old painting.

HE:COMMUNITY PARK

Visitor Lee:Uncle Zhang, do you come to this community park often? There are many traditional calligraphy elements here

Resident Mr. Zhang:Yes, we come here every day. Not only can you enjoy the works of the neighbourhood calligraphers, but you can also dip the curtain in water to experience the creation, which will disappear automatically after a period of time, which is particularly convenient.

Retired Kunqu Performer ChenAnd these racks are also very convenient for us as they provide me with the opportunity to dry my clothes when there is no exhibition

03 TAKEOUT TETRIS [INDIVIDUAL WORK] Project Type:URBAN RENEWAL Project Location: Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China Date:2023.5-2023.8 Tutor:ZHANG Jun Tutor's Email: zj@scut.edu.cn As Guangzhou City Continues To Grow, The Demand For Takeaways In The Metropolitan Centre Is Rapidly Increasing, Yet Urban Facilities Have Not Kept Pace With This Development To Provide An Appropriate Response, Resulting In Takeaways Facing Serious Challenges In Terms Of Delivery Efficiency, Daily Needs And Even Personal Safety.

To Address This Issue,I Have Taken Inspiration From The Game Of Tetris And Designed A Series Of Modular Units In A Creative Way To Integrate Takeaway Friendly Neighbourhoods Into Blank Areas Of The City, Mimicking The Rules Of The Game Of Tetris To Improve The Efficiency And Safety Of Takeaways. These Tetris Shaped Modular Installations Are Cleverly Integrated Into The Urban Space To Provide A Friendly Working Environment For Takeaways.

Through This Innovative Urban Design, I Aim To Break Down The Boundaries Of Traditional Takeaway Services And Improve The Efficiency Of Takeaway Workers While Increasing Their Personal Safety. This Project Not Only Makes The City Friendlier, But Also Provides A Better Working Experience For The Takeaway Workers, Further Contributing To The Sustainable Development Of The City.

The Constant Deconstruction And Geometrization Of The Whole Neighbourhood, Which Can Also Be Summarised As A Tetris-Like Interface, Inspired Me To Use The Geometric Elimination Techniques Of Tetris To Solve Urban Problem.

O

The Game Is Quite Simple And Easy Like An Online Free Cell Card Game. The Player Just Needs To Arrange These Tetrominoes Into Spaces By Changing Its Physical Structure(If Required), Somewhat Like A Puzzle. The Player Needs To Fit The Block Or Tile Such That At The Formation Of 10 Units In A Horizontal Line, It Disappears. The Player Gets Sufficient Space To Settle The Other Blocks Which Are On Its Way. Your Goal Is To Continually Stack Tetrominoes And Clear Lines As Long As You Can. To Do That, You Need To Fill An Entire Line Horizontally With Blocks, Causing Those Lines To Disappear And Giving You More Space To Stack.

By Allowing These Tetris Base Shapes To Derive To A ThreeDimensional Scale, More Geometric Modules Can Be Derived, Which Are More Similar To Our Neighbourhood Space Types
