D E S I G N I N S P I R A T I O N S | Rustic Barns
For more design & build inspirations visit JustHome.US or on Social Media @JustHomeUS
Sustainable L.A. Farmhouse The Hollywood power couple dug in and planted some serious roots perched on top of a Los Angeles hilltop. This couple has undoubtedly come to the completion of their legacy property.
This rustic self-sustainable home is a work of art and a real breath of fresh air. This Hollywood couple dug a well to irrigate their land and went to work planting a field of corn that they harvested! This six-acre property hits all the points of a whimsically rustic barn meets a clean, modern home vibe.
This vast undertaking to create a home from the ground up is either a make you or break you kind of project. They had specific details that encompassed their ideas in design and an expansive vision for sustainability.
With sustainability at the top of its must-have, this home and guest home is equipped and entirely powered by photovoltaics (Dual Purpose Cool Roof & Solar System).
Like most couples looking to create their dream home, they took to one of the most dependable home improvement resources out there, PINTEREST.
When it came to the design aspect of the home, they hired Vicky Charles of Charles & Co. They were obsessed with her choices of mixed fabrics, patterns, and textures that she had used on other projects, especially the Soho Farmhouse. They spent months examining different materials and colors to find the right combination that spoke to and encompassed the couple's vision. The design style eventually moved away from the traditional farmhouse aesthetic and became something more contemporary. It was switching out wrought-iron details for more dramatic ones like the client's crystal chandelier that crowns their guest house/entertainment barn.
Yes. You better believe it PINTEREST was their saving grace, and from this site, they hashed out their non-negotiables. Mila and Ashton created independent PINTEREST boards and pinned away. We were not surprised when we read that 90% of these dynamic duos design ideas were identical. The couple hired architect Howard Backen of the AD100 firm Backen & Gillam Architects. Backen is the master.

D E S I G N I N S P I R A T I O N S | Laundry Make-Over
The Lowly Laundry Room
In this day and age, space is at a premium, and your laundry room is probably at the bottom of the list when it comes to square footage. But by using smart space-saving techniques, you can magically organize this space to look clutter-free and downright impressive! Think about installing floor to ceiling cabinets. This will help you utilize your space efficiently. This way, you can store your cleaning products like laundry soap, fabric softener, stain removers, and more! In easy to reach, and conveniently out of the way. If you are looking to take it up a notch. Add a few cute hooks in or below the cabinets — this will create extra shelf space too. P.S. — If wall cabinets are not in the budget, wall shelves are just as attractive, and an affordable, alternative. Now for the fun stuff. Organizing! This will give you that clean, functional style that will just make your heart happy. Start with removing any unwanted bottles or products that haven't been used in a while. This frees up space and will give you a more streamlined look when organizing the rest of your items. You can use functional glass jars, decorative bins, and printable labels to help put that personal touch and give it some serious laundry room style! It’s The First Thing To Greet
And there’s no steering around it — driveways play a big role in your home’s appearance. A typical driveway is nearly half the size of a tennis court. With a little imagination, however, you can create a great-looking driveway that will boost your curb appeal and help preserve the value of your home. You have many options when looking to upgrade your driveway, but the 2 most popular are Poured Concrete and Interlocking Pavers.
You When You Get Home! Poured Concrete Poured concrete driveways are one of the preferred driveways, because its’ permanent lowmaintenance quality. Concrete can be poured to form patterns or sections, allowing for contraction and expansion of concrete. Concrete paved driveways are more expensive than asphalt but they can last for decades without decaying.
Interlocking Pavers Interlocking pavers are usually made of cement or concrete and shaped so they can interlock with other pavers of the same type. The interlocking pavers simulate the appearance of cobblestone pathways.
