Looking to find inner peace after a long day?
Bathtubs are the place! This is where you can take a moment, sprinkle in some of your favorite bath products, light a candle and maybe even enjoy a good book. But not all bathtubs are created equal! We are about to break down 3 different types of bathtubs that will hopefully provide a guide to a match made in Heaven. Bathtubs come with a lot of different specifications — material, shape, style, and
size. As a homeowner, you will want to take these things into consideration to get the maximum amount of enjoyment out of your bathroom. Picking the perfect bathtub could also lead to higher resale value of your home. Whether you want an inexpensive, functional tub, or a luxurious tub for soaking away the demands of the day, there are still many choices to make. Make sure you know everything you and your family may need from a tub, and what the different tubs offer.

FR EES TAND I N G
Often viewed with nostalgic fondness, clawfoot tubs are a popular choice for bathrooms in a vintage style. Since this type of tub offers a slight reclining back, it is optimal for enjoying a nice long soak. These soaking tubs are held up with four decorative feet, making for an elegant addition to any bathroom.
JE TTE D Jetted bathtubs are known to work magic on sore muscles or aching backs. Many drop-in or corner bathtubs may have a whirlpool type vibe, with jets that can be adjusted to hit your body in all the places that need soothing. Everyone loves a relaxing soak, and that is exactly where whirlpool tubs excel.

A L C O VE The classic tub most of us grew up with, the alcove configuration is a bathtub that has three walls and often doubles as a shower. Alcove tubs are built against the wall to help maximize the available space in any bathroom. They are inexpensive and come in many different styles. The downside is it may be too confining for someone who enjoys a long, luxurious soak.

Don’t let good lighting be just a cliché, because good lighting is everything. You can control the ambiance and mood with just a flick of a switch. So, whether you are looking to light up the room from the top to the bottom, or just looking to grab the next great wall sconce. Here are the few, need to knows to creating a well-lighted home.
additional foot of ceiling height, add 3 inches.
Ceiling height is something that is so important when considering hanging light fixtures. Choosing lights that come with adjustable cables or rods, are great but some don’t come with that luxury. So, knowing the height of your ceiling is essential. As the old saying goes, “Measure twice cut once”. This will save yourself the hassle of getting stuck with a light that is too high or a little too low.
Know your glow. Choosing the right type of light bulb is just as important if not more important than the fixture itself! Halogen, compact fluorescent or LED bulbs come in a range of warm or cool hues. Much like the color of your walls, the type of glow you want is mostly a personal decision.
PRO TIP: The bottom of a light should hang about 12 to 20 inches below a standard 8-foot ceiling. For each

PRO TIP: If your walls are covered in cooler tones, you might want to warm them up with a light bulb that casts a warm glow. Conversely, you may want a cooler glow to brighten up a darker space.
