D E S I G N I N S P I R A T I O N S | Home Improvements
Be Strategic with Your With 2022 coming our way, now is the time to start planning how you will whip your home into shape. But you need to start strategically planning which projects will give you the biggest bang for your buck? Like New Year’s Resolutions Goals, you need to plan out what you want. We are here to help, and here are a few things we would like you to consider when it comes to heating and cooling your home year round. Not all home improvements end with glitz and glam, but some will leave you feeling richer in the long run. Some improvements can be pricey, some are cheaper, some involve shiny new smart devices, and others are as low-tech as they come. But at the end of the day, all will help put cash back in your pockets.
An excellent way to save over the long haul is to add additional insulation in your attic; this will keep your electric expenses in check. You can hire a professional or do it yourself. This simple adjustment can save you more in long-term savings over the years. An average cost is $1.50 to $3.50 a square foot, depending on your choice of insulation.
You can also add one of those fancy thermostats (like a Nest) that gives you the convenience of scheduling your heating and cooling right from your phone. You can even check with your local power company to see if they offer any rebates if you install one.
Improvements in 2022
One thing we love in a home is lots of windows. This keeps your house bright and airy but can also make for a warmer home during the summer months. Low-E Windows or Window Film helps to block sunlight from warming up your home; these are instant solutions. Low-E, or low-emissivity, windows are specially made to let in less heat in the summer and keep in more of it in the winter. Of course, new energyefficient windows aren’t cheap. Here is one budget-friendly alternative to consider is low-E film. This tint can be applied to existing windows and costs roughly $6 to $14 a square foot. Talk about a win, win. Ceiling Fans are always a no-brainer when it comes to keeping your home cooler and is more energy-efficient in most cases. A ceiling fan does not have the same cooling ability as the AC, but using it in connection with AC will let you maintain a lower temperature and stay comfortable. Talk about excellent utility bill savings! Plus, your ceiling fan doesn’t have to gather dust in the winter. Reverse the direction of the blades to push warm air back down and stay cozier without cranking up the heat. This simple suggestion has great benefits year-round.

D E S I G N I N S P I R A T I O N S | Trending Paint Colors
Deja Vu for Days 2020 has us all feeling like we woke up with a foreboding sense of deja vu? Like we are living the exact same day over and over again and have been for almost 8 months now. We are sure you are also probably getting tired of looking at the trending grey on grey on grey from years past. If one thing good has come out of this year, it is the newest trending paint colors that will take us from 2020 to 2021.
The grey is gone and has seen better days . . . We are about to show you how the new colors trending can help you renew those mundane interiors since you are spending more time at home than expected! https://wholemood.com/design/colour-trends-2020/ For more Design & build ideas visit our Website at JustHome.us Or follow us on social media @JustHomeUS
D E S I G N I N S P I R A T I O N S | Rustic Barns
For more design & build inspirations visit JustHome.US or on Social Media @JustHomeUS
Sustainable L.A. Farmhouse The Hollywood power couple dug in and planted some serious roots perched on top of a Los Angeles hilltop. This couple has undoubtedly come to the completion of their legacy property.
This rustic self-sustainable home is a work of art and a real breath of fresh air. This Hollywood couple dug a well to irrigate their land and went to work planting a field of corn that they harvested! This six-acre property hits all the points of a whimsically rustic barn meets a clean, modern home vibe.
This vast undertaking to create a home from the ground up is either a make you or break you kind of project. They had specific details that encompassed their ideas in design and an expansive vision for sustainability.
With sustainability at the top of its must-have, this home and guest home is equipped and entirely powered by photovoltaics (Dual Purpose Cool Roof & Solar System).
Like most couples looking to create their dream home, they took to one of the most dependable home improvement resources out there, PINTEREST.
When it came to the design aspect of the home, they hired Vicky Charles of Charles & Co. They were obsessed with her choices of mixed fabrics, patterns, and textures that she had used on other projects, especially the Soho Farmhouse. They spent months examining different materials and colors to find the right combination that spoke to and encompassed the couple's vision. The design style eventually moved away from the traditional farmhouse aesthetic and became something more contemporary. It was switching out wrought-iron details for more dramatic ones like the client's crystal chandelier that crowns their guest house/entertainment barn.
Yes. You better believe it PINTEREST was their saving grace, and from this site, they hashed out their non-negotiables. Mila and Ashton created independent PINTEREST boards and pinned away. We were not surprised when we read that 90% of these dynamic duos design ideas were identical. The couple hired architect Howard Backen of the AD100 firm Backen & Gillam Architects. Backen is the master.
