There are a confusing variety of organisations who grade hotels in the UK under a set of quality standards. These include UK tourist authorities, the AA and Visit Britain as well as hotels applying their own self-assessment rating.

Unfortunately, many hotels do not join the rating schemes, making it difficult to judge what the standard of the hotel may be.

At Just Go! we are all about transparency and honesty in what we offer on our holidays. We therefore grade the hotels featured in our brochures based on our own experience, knowledge of the hotel and, more importantly, feedback from Just Go! customers.

We head to Tiverton, with time to explore this quaint town before our memorable boat trip. One of the last of its kind, the Tivertonian is a traditional horse-drawn barge on the picturesque Grand Western Canal. We meander through beautiful countryside and charming villages for an hour to East Manley, where there’s a chance to stretch our legs and admire Brunel’s aqueduct while the horse has a well-earned rest, before returning to Tiverton.

During our journey, we listen to tales, anecdotes and historical facts about the horse-drawn barge and the Grand Western Canal.

RHS Rosemoor & Bideford (full day) RHS Garden Rosemoor, spanning 65 acres set in the Torridge Valley, is a unique and enchanting place to explore. Here we can admire the Rose Garden, the Fruit & Vegetable Garden and the Exotic Garden, plus many more, all showcasing displays of horticultural excellence. We then enjoy some free time in the town of Bideford, situated on the west bank of the River Torridge. Cromer, Sheringham & the North Norfolk Railway (full day) We head to Cromer and Sheringham. Cromer is a classic resort on the north Norfolk coast famous for its tasty crabs and boasting wide open beaches and a traditional pier. Originally a small north Norfolk fishing village, Sheringham is now a popular seaside town with a sandy beach, seafront promenade and a range of shops.

In the afternoon we board our train on the heritage North Norfolk Railway (also known as the Poppy Line) for a journey from Sheringham to Holt, passing through a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We travel out to the rugged west coast of Scotland to join the Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness Railway, which takes us eastwards to the capital of the Highlands. This beautiful line has been likened to a symphony in three parts: pastoral, mountain and marine. From the perfect vantage point, we enjoy the magnificent landscapes that provide the backdrop for a wonderfully scenic rail journey, as we take in many of the area’s shimmering lochs and dramatic moors along the way. We journey along the southern bank of the mysterious Beauly Firth, through Dingwall and past the huge isolated mountain of Ben Wyvis before arriving in Inverness.

We head to the peaceful town of Aviemore and spend some time at leisure. Popular for its stunning views of the Cairngorms, the town is also home to a fascinating stone circle that is more than 4,000 years old. We then make our way to Aviemore station to board a train on the Strathspey Railway that takes us through the picturesque mountain vistas, heather-clad moors and woodland of the Cairngorms National Park, the largest national park in the British Isles. We journey to Broomhill station which famously featured as Glenbogle station in the popular BBC series Monarch of the Glen.

Hotel Ratings JG value rated hotels offer basic adequate, clean and practical facilities and services.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels.

There are a confusing variety of organisations who grade hotels in the UK under a set of quality standards.

These include UK tourist authorities, the AA and Visit Britain as well as hotels applying their own self-assessment rating. Unfortunately, many hotels do not join the rating schemes, making it difficult to judge what the standard of the hotel may be.

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties.

Décor and furnishings may be simple but are well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels.

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of a very high standard, offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms feature a very good quality of furniture, facilities and soft furnishings. Uniformed staff provide a service that reflects attention to detail and quality. Serious attention is paid to food and drink.

Frequently Asked Questions Why do I have to pay a single supplement?

It is standard practice in the hotel trade to charge for single occupancy of a room as the cost of providing heating, lighting and cleaning etc, is the same regardless of the number of people occupying it.

Will my pickup point change?

All available pickup points are shown for each tour. Please note however, that pickup points are dependent on Just Go! Holidays receiving minimum bookings from those locations. On occasions it may be necessary to move your requested pickup point after booking to ensure that your holiday can still operate. You will be notified of any change to your pickup with your final confirmation.

Passengers are requested to inform us of any food allergies/requests at the time of booking and we will attempt to accommodate them, however special arrangements cannot be guaranteed. Passengers who are coeliac or follow a gluten-free diet are advised to contact the hotel before arrival to check if the diet is catered for. Some customers take their own bread for breakfasts.

Customers with severe food allergies or dietary requirements are advised to make appropriate arrangements with the hotel prior to commencing their tour and speak to the hotel staff on arrival.

Why do I need insurance?

At Just Go! Holidays we are committed to ensuring you are taken care of every step of the way, from the day you book, through to the last day of your holiday.

Occasionally passengers fall ill or have an accident whilst on holiday preventing them from travelling home with the coach or on the return flight or requiring medical care when on tour in the UK, Channel Islands or Ireland. This may impact you financially.

What time will my pickup be?

We will inform you of the exact pickup time from your town approximately one to two weeks before departure. As a general rule on UK holidays we depart early morning and arrive home late afternoon/early evening although some exceptions may apply.

Can I take my car?

When do I need to pay the balance of my holiday?

Yes, on certain UK mainland tours. We will give you a discount of £25 per person and a seat will still be reserved for you on the coach for the excursions.

The balance due dates (the period before the departure date on which your full balance normally becomes due) are: 6 weeks before departure for all UK mainland, Ireland and Isle of Man holidays by coach. For UK, including Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands holidays by air, the balance is due with us no later than 8 weeks prior to travel.

For bookings made after the balance due date; full payment is due at the time of booking. You can also make interim payments anytime between paying the deposit and the balance due date.

Who is responsible for my luggage during my journey?

It is your responsibility to ensure your suitcase is on board the coach. Please make sure you see the driver place your luggage into the coach and, on the way home, carefully check you collect the correct luggage from the driver at your drop off point. We cannot accept responsibility for damaged or misplaced luggage or any personal items and, whilst we will assist you with the recovery of any lost suitcase, this will be upon receipt of the courier costs.

Railway excursions

Please note that journeys on certain railways may not always be steam hauled, even when pictured in this brochure as being so. Diesel locomotive trains are sometimes in use on certain journeys over which, regrettably, we have no control.

How much luggage can I take with me?

For holidays by coach, your luggage must be restricted to one medium-sized suitcase weighing no more than 18 kilograms (40 pounds); we cannot carry any additional luggage items. Also, we cannot accept responsibility at any time for your own personal hand luggage. For any holidays by air, the luggage allowance will vary between airlines and will be advised at the time of booking.

You must advise us if anyone in your party has mobility issues – the minimum requirements are that you are able to climb the steps onto a coach unaided. Please read the tour itinerary carefully to make sure it is appropriate for your mobility level.

Due to space limitations we can only accommodate a maximum of two walking aids on to each coach, either wheelchairs or walking frames so long as they are collapsible, therefore you must pre-book a space when you book your holiday and confirmation of this will be on our correspondence to you. Unfortunately we have to reserve the right not to carry any walking aids that are not pre-booked. We regret we cannot accept mobility scooters or motorised wheelchairs.

If you have any special requests, we will do our best to help but we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled, they are just a request. If your request is imperative to the enjoyment of your holiday, please inform one of the members of our reservations staff at the time of booking however, we cannot accept a booking on the basis of a request being guaranteed. General confirmation that a special request has been noted or passed on to our supplier is not confirmation that your request will be met. All special requests are subject to availability unless and until they are specifically confirmed by us in writing.

Will there be a toilet on the coach?

Yes, all the holidays featured in our main 2020 brochure will be operated by a modern executive standard coach including a wc onboard. Regular comfort breaks will also be taken.

Are the excursions guaranteed to run on the day specified in this brochure?

Our brochures and itineraries are put together sometimes over a year in advance therefore, unfortunately, things may change before the tour takes place and some excursions may be swapped from one day to another.

Do I need a passport?

All our Ireland, Channel Islands and Cruise holidays are sold on the basis that you are a British Passport holder. It is your responsibility to ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of the tour return. On holidays by air within the UK you will also need a form of photo identification. You need to advise us if you are not travelling on a British passport for port security checks. In addition, any visa requirements are your responsibility.

What do I do if I’m not completely happy?

It is imperative that if you are unhappy about any aspect of your holiday, you raise the matter IMMEDIATELY with the coach driver, tour manager or accommodation provider. If you fail to do this and deny us the opportunity to rectify the matter at the time, we shall not accept any responsibility retrospectively.

If the matter cannot be resolved immediately, it is a condition that you write to us, quoting your booking reference, with the details of your complaint so that we may commence an investigation.

This may impact you financially, it is company policy that all our customers hold some form of travel insurance, not necessarily the insurance Just Go! A holiday insurance scheme is available for passengers travelling on our holidays arranged by Towergate Travel with ETI – International Travel Protection (ERV), the UK branch of Europäische Reiseverscherung AG, who are Licensed by the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BAFIN – www.ba n.de) and approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA – www.fca.org. uk) to undertake insurance business in the UK. SIGNIFICANT EXCLUSIONS RESIDENCY

Please note this policy is only available to residents of the United Kingdom. The definition of residents of the United Kingdom is any person who is staying in or has lived in the United Kingdom for more than 12 months, or if studying or working in the United Kingdom for more than 6 months.

HEALTH CONDITIONS

You must be able to comply with the following conditions to have the full protection of your policy. If you do not comply the insurer may refuse to deal with any relevant claim or reduce the amount of any relevant claim payment.

You must telephone MediScreen on 0344 892 1698 if anyone to be covered by this policy, or any person upon whose health the trip depends: 1. Has any medical condition which falls into any of the following categories which you have, or have had and for which you: a) have received, or are waiting to receive, treatment (including surgery, tests or investigations) or b) are taking or have been taking prescribed drugs or medication within the last 5 years: • Respiratory condition (any condition relating to the lungs or breathing) • Cardiovascular condition (any condition relating to the heart, arteries, veins or blood pressure) • Stroke • Crohn’s disease • Epilepsy • Any cancer or malignant condition • High cholesterol • Diabetes 2. Has or has had any other medical condition for which you have been prescribed drugs or medication or for which you have received, or are waiting to receive, treatment (including surgery, tests or investigations) within the last 2 years.

MediScreen’s office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.

PLEASE NOTE You must also notify MediScreen immediately of any changes in medical circumstances arising between the date the policy is issued and the time of departure for the trip. You may have to pay an additional premium to cover your medical conditions. This applies to all destinations.

SIGNIFICANT OR UNUSUAL LIMITATIONS OR WHAT IS NOT COVERED: 1. The cover under this policy is only available to United Kingdom residents for travel to and from the United Kingdom and repatriation will be to the United Kingdom only.

2. Cover is only available for the whole duration of a booked trip to a maximum 31 consecutive days, and cover cannot be purchased once a trip has already begun.

3. The excess amount deductible from a claim applies to each and every claim, per incident claimed for, under certain sections by each insured person.

4. If your money, valuables, any items of baggage, your passport or visa are lost or stolen, you must notify the local Police within 24 hours of discovery or as soon as possible thereafter. Please make sure you get a copy of the Police report. Failure to comply may result in your claim being rejected or the amount of any relevant claim reduced.

5. You are not covered for valuables, your passport or visa if left unattended at any time (including in a vehicle, in checked in luggage or while in the custody of a carrier, tour operator or public transport operator) unless deposited in a hotel safe, safety deposit box or left in your locked accommodation.

6. Stolen property: You are not covered for baggage stolen from: an unattended coach/bus unless it was locked in the luggage compartment of the coach/bus and evidence of force or violent entry to the vehicle is available, or the passenger compartment of any unattended vehicle.

Examples of these and other conditions and exclusions are contained within the policy wording, a specimen copy of which is available upon request. If after purchasing a policy from us should you find it does not meet your requirements, you have 14 days from the date of receipt of the policy documents to cancel the policy and receive a full refund of your premium providing you have not travelled, no claim has been made or is intended to be made and no incident likely to give rise to a claim has occurred.
