INTRODUCTION We are delighted to welcome you to our spring portfolio tasting. A momentous year for Justerini & Brooks, 2024 marks 275 years since an intrepid Italian, Giacamo Justerini, arrived on these shores in pursuit of an unrequited love, and began selling wines and spirits to the greatest households and institutions in the land. We have not forgotten our roots and are proud to continue this great tradition by offering some of the most exciting and innovative producers we’ve had the pleasure to meet. Our most recent portfolio additions are focused on the new world. Desire Lines in California, described by Antony Galloni as ‘one of my most exciting discoveries this year’ and by our California buyer as ‘vivid, expressive and hugely drinkable wines full of character and soul’, these are some of the most interesting, approachable and good-value (more often than not a complete contradiction in terms) Californian wines we’ve come across in a long time. Another exciting discovery hails from our Australian friends, Turon Wines. Based in the Adelaide Hills, Turon and his wife, Alex, make elegant, expressive wines with a focus on sustainability and environmental sensitivity. Staying on Antipodean ground, we’re also thrilled to have brought on the Marlborist, one of New Zealand’s most interesting new projects. Made by ex-winemakers from Greywacke, Villa Maria and Ata Rangi, these wines come with a serious pedigree and are a terrific addition to our New Zealand range. We are always proud to show those producers with whom we have forged long-term, fruitful relationships, often working with generations of the same family, as well as newer superstars from South Africa, Spain and Champagne. The offer today showcases a range of our favourite wines from across the spectrum, including a wide variety of by the glass options and a number of wine list gems.
