2020-21 has been a difficult time for all. Te most fundamental aspects of humans, naturally social beings, have been stripped from us due to COVID-19. Visiting friends and family has become a challenge for many, and for me and many individuals. Nevertheless, meeting the students at Te HUB and hearing about the love and support they give for each other truly moved me. It was an honor to meet all of the young students and I appreciate Dacamera Young Artist Program and Te HUB for this opportunity to write for them. I would also like to thank Alexandra Smither for being an amazing collaborator.
Text: Alexandra Smither
Verse 1:
Tere is somewhere you can go, to be with all your friends
Loving and supportive, the fun never ends.
Tere is no bullying, it’s easygoing and safe
You are encouraged to learn and be yourself in this wonderful place!
Chorus:
We’re Te HUBsters, HEAR US CHEER!
We’re about community here.
And we are here to say: we believe in you too!
Verse 2:
But Te HUB’s not just for us, it's about community too.
We care for the earth and help our neighbors stay well and bring them food. We go on the Journey of Belonging with all of our friends, It’s not just “I”, it’s also “We” and the fun never has to end!
Chorus:
We’re Te HUBsters, HEAR US CHEER!
We’re about community here.
And we are here to say: we believe in you too!
