WearedelightedtopartnerwithDiversifytheStandonthisfirstcollaborationofnewmusicReSoundingProgressforTrumpetandPiano.AspartofRIAM’s175Strategy,andasadirect responsetoStrategicGoal1to‘InvestinAccessandInclusionforamodernRIAM’,wehavebeen reviewingoursyllabiwithaviewtofindingandcommissioningnewworksfromadiverserangeof artists.Thispublicationmarksoneofthefirststepsonachallengingandsignificantjourneyof change.AstepwhichwehereatRIAMrecognisetheimportanceof,notleastgivenourreachand influencewithteachersandlearners,artists,creatives,andaudiencesacrosstheglobe.

DiversifytheStandbeganwhentwotrumpetplayers,AshleyKillamandCarrieBlosser,metin 2020.Theybothsharedapassionforwantingtoexpandstudenttrumpetmusicallibrarieswith piecesdifferentthanthestandardcannonperformedintrumpetrepertoire.TheDiversifythe Standteamhasgrown,andsohasitsmissiontobenowaresourcetoprovideaccessible,educationalsolosbylivingcomposerswithstudents,educators,andperformers.

However,shehasneverforgottenherAtlantichomeandcontinuestostrengthenconnectionsacross theland.She'swrittenforclassicalensembles,astreetbrassband,andvariouspointsinbetween. ParticipatingintheLunenburgAcademyofMusic,theWildflowerComposersFestivalandas Composer-in-Residenceatthe2021UNBContemporaryMusicFestival,she'shadnoshortageof musicaladventures.
