Performance Notes
I wrote this piece with a Line 6 DL 4 pedal in mind. The knobs should be set as following:
- Loop Sampler
- Delay Time: all the way to the left (7 o’clock)
- Repeats: all the way to the left (7 o’clock)
- Tweak: c. 11 o’clock
- Tweez: 12 o’clock
- Mix: c. 12:30 o’clock
A single tap on left foot pedal (A) will begin recording.
A second tap on pedal A will begin overdub.
A third tap on pedal A will stop recording/overdubbing. The loop will continue.
No other pedals will be used.
The violinist ought to control the pedals.
Conundrum
A woman seeks the highest truth. A light shines, seducing. Light. Shining light. Where is revelation?
Pure truth. Pure light. Come close to see.
The highest truth is without image. But without image, how can the truth be known?
The light blinds. The woman fails. She turns to words for solace. Words seduce.
The highest principle is without words. But if there are no words, how can the principle be known?
