The Moonblush Suite
Jen Oliverio FOR TRUMPET
QUARTET
PERUSALSCORE
Hello!
I’m Dr. Jen Oliverio, trumpet professor, Freelancer, and Avid Brass Bander.
The Moonblush Suite is the younger sister suite to the Sunburst Suite. It was commissioned by Dr. Julia Bell at Texas Tech University as a fun and quirky addition to the repertoire for young trumpet students. The movements of this work can be performed as standalone pieces or as a kind of buildyour-own adventure. Each movement is titled after a cosmic event or nature theme and is intentionally just a little bit silly.
Lasting around 1-2 minutes per movement and ranging from G3-F5, each movement is approachable for Middle-high school students while still presenting a fun and engaging challenge. Movement titles and preferred order for full composition can be seen below:
Candlelit Emberglass
Gossamer Honeysuckle
Golden Duskfire
Rosevine Stardust
Velvet Aurora
